Coffee is taken seriously here; they don't even make the filtered stuff. After many espresso longs in the city, I kept coming back here. Breakfast is excellent. The eggs Benedict lovely. Had a great carrot cake with coffee. A lunch of fish and chips was a bit disappointing. A bit greasy and not much taste. But given the superb coffee,... More

Overpriced rooms, not worth 195 dollars for two for a night (plus extra charge for breakfast, since the limit for breakfast was 12 dollars per person and no one informed us in the beginning. Breakfast was good though, I wouldn't recommend staying there for a night, maybe just having a breakfast there is ok.

This was my 2nd time in this small and comfortable hotel just above a very popular café. Rooms were recently renovated, comfortable bed and couple of chairs, table and a flat screen TV. Good air conditioning (but if you decide to open a window it gets too loud because of working AC unit). Free Wi-Fi and a free breakfast served... More

It is what you'd expect of a French bistro. Little tables near from one to the other, French instrumental music, French cuisine. The fried squids and the bouillabaisse were delicious, the coffee espresso perfect. Not a over the top restaurant, but a nice one.

The rooms are small, but they have everything you need. The furniture and the decoration are modern. Downstairs is the Cafe Krieghoff. The hotel reservation included a charge of $12, per person, for breakfast at the Cafe. The à la carte breakfast offers a good variety of dishes. The quality of the food is very good. The value for the... More

Smoked salmon bagel was impeccable but not cheap at 12.95, washed down with a glass of good rose at 6.50. Eggs benedict at 14.95 was good, but again rather expensive. Not the only cafe in the neighbourhood, but certainly the most popular. Worth a visit.

Booking this one last minute I was worried as I hadn't been able to do research prior to arriving. I was very pleasantly surprised and content. In a very safe and active street in a walk up to the 2nd floor from the restaurant. The room was more than adequate and although the private bathroom was across the hall this... More

I travel to Quebec City regularly for business. I booked two rooms this summer out of desperation - my usual places were all booked up. What a pleasant surprise! The rooms were quite spacious, amazingly clean and recently renovated. The neighbourhood is popular with locals yet within walking distance of many main attractions - if you are a good walker,... I have been coming here to the Café Krieghoff for years, but have been there for the last time. We ordered Montreal Smoked Meat with fries - both were cold and in small portions, Club sandwich - made with poor quality ham and cold toast, and a yoghurt-based breakfast (average, at best). We were charged $2.00 for an extra plate... More

Being used to hotels with ground floor receptions and elevators, it came as a shock one very wet May evening in Quebec city when our cab stopped outside Hotel Krieghoff and we saw the outside stairs up which we had to lug our transatlantic weight cases. Things didn't get off to an auspicious start but it got better. This bijou... More
