My boyfriend and I went for four days to celebrate my birthday and wanted to stay 'within the wall'. The typical hotel I stay in was booked so I chose Maison du General and was very happy that I did so. The location is perfect as you do not have to move your vehicle the whole time you are visiting... More

This hotel is situated on one of the busiest roads in Old Quebec, which makes it very handy for going out, however it also means that there is potential for street noise at night. We were lucky in having rooms to the rear of the property which were quiet. The rooms were tiny, with a double bed and chest of... More

Reasonable price with great location. DO NOT get a Room # 1 !!!! It's a foot away from busy sidewalk and entrance. Until 10 at night, it's like havin a room in the lobby or sidewalk. Would not have stayed here if I'd known about room location.

My favorite hotel in Quebec City was just too expensive this summer. So, I took a chance on this hotel that had received mixed reviews. I must say I enjoyed staying here. Yes the hotel is almost 130 years old however it was comfortable, clean, and charming! Our room was on the main floor and to the front but I... More

Just stayed here Thursday thru Monday. The only good thing about the hotel was that indeed it was located in Old Quebec. The downside of that is that it is right on Rue St Louis the main street going into the city! Perhaps if your room is in the back of the hotel it was better but we were right... More

We enjoyed many aspects of the hotel, primarily the location. You will have to park offsite, but we were able to get in a garage for $58 for four nights...not bad. Really, the location is ideal for walking Old Quebec. We came back at times to rest quickly or use Wi-Fi. We had a double and the room was incredibly... More

Two good points about this hotel is that it's within the old city of Quebec which is perfect for sightseeing and the staff is friendly. Now for the negative.... Parking is not included and a 10 minute walk from the hotel. $55.00 for the weekend. Our room was on the third floor. No elevators. The room was tiny. Barely enough... More

We love this little hotel. It's almost a guest house given the level of service but that suits us fine. It's family run and very informal. There are no elevators, just creaky old stairs. The rooms are vintage and the front rooms have windows to the street where you can watch the world go by. The building is hundreds of... More

The hotel is part of a "group" of hotels that are all small townhouse-type of facilties. We were booked in a different one but when we checked in, we were put in this one. It was actually fortuitous because this one was in a better location than our original choice, near many bistros and nice restaurants and only a couple... More

I had stayed two years ago in this delightful, centuries old B&B - perhaps more more appropriatly described as a hotel. I loved it then and we loved it this trip. It is just a block inside the old city wall fortification and within walking distance of just about any destination inside the old city. When we arrived late afternoon,... More
