We only stayed there for one night but we wish we stayed for the whole weekend! The house is really beautiful and full of character! Our room was huge and tastefully decorated. The hosts were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The owners are very proud of this place and it shows with their attention to detail. Stephane told us that they have renovated everything themselves and chose every piece of furniture by hand. They have really put a lot of energy into making this house look the way it used to and it is a very special place to visit!

And I must mention the most delicious breakfast we had there! Wow, we were so spoiled - it was a 3 course meal with all sorts of treats being put in front of us, I just wish I could fit more in:)

My husband and I travel frequently. This B&B is one that we would highly recommend, and visit again ourselves. The home has been beautifully done, and our bed/room was very comfortable. The owners obviously take great pride in their home and culinary skills. Daniel is the chef and a 3 course breakfast is served to guests at the dining table. The table is adorned with embroidered linens and beautiful glassware. This home is conveniently located and our drive time was minimal to the sights we came to visit. If you choose to stay here, you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful old house with 12 feet high ceilings, wooden floors, well maintained, quiet and tastefully decorated. We stopped there for a night in Québec en route to Charlevoix. Hassle-free and cheap alternative to staying in old Québec. We left our car parked at the B & B and took the 800 bus that runs in front of the house every 10 minutes. It's a 20 minutes ride to rue St-Jean (corner Honoré Mercier), just a few steps from Porte Saint-Jean, one of the gate to the old city. We had the Isabella room: AC, private washroom, a little kitchenette corner with small fridge, microwave, sink and dishes. Nice linen, comfy bed if you like them soft. When we came back from our evening in Vieux-Quebec, the owners had left us a note letting us know at what time the breakfast would be served. It was served as said in the splendid and huge dining room, a delicious 3 courses meal. I would certainly stay there again.

The B&B was a wonderful retreat for us in Quebec City. We booked it for only two nights and wish we had stayed longer. The hosts are extremely hospitable and pointed out things to see in the city, including showing us websites and how to get there. The breakfast was amazing: coffee, juice, yogurt and toppings - loved the walnuts and cranberries - Eggs Benedict or other wonderfully prepared dishes we do not often get to eat, and then dessert on top of that! Each day we were totally stuffed and ready to begin our day of walking, climbing, investigating Quebec City. Our room was very spacious, impeccably decorated, high ceilings, large bath and closet space, large windows which had shutters, and beautiful bedspread and curtains. We did have some trouble finding it the first day as we took the 800 bus out of the city - had no car - and we did arrive early, so we contacted Daniel by email and he promptly returned our call. We are thankful that we were able to leave our luggage at a neighbor's BNB down the street so that we could go touring that day in Quebec. Daniel and Stephan were outstanding hosts, and seemed interested in us and our families. Hospitality galore here! Do check out this wonderful BNB!

This B&B exceeded all our expectations. Wonderful place to spend a night or a few nights. Beautifully restored Victorian home with large rooms and all the amenities. Wonderful hosts who are dedicated to pleasing their customers. Breakfast is equivalent to what you would expect to find in a top rated restaurant. Gite Royal Dumontier is an upscale B&B that I would highly recommend.

We were a little leery at first glance, but after meeting the man who owns the place we really liked it here. He told us about the history of the house; which was very interesting. The house is being renovated but the our room was immaculate and had some very interesting touches; like the huge chandelier hanging over the bed. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very modern. The place is about 10 minutes from Old Town Quebec. We took a night walk around the neighborhood and enjoyed the architecture. The breakfast was outstanding and very filling.

Excellent property, I deducted points only because they were doing some renovations still, and the AC was loud, but they were installing a new system, so it will be improved.
Location is good, easy to get to the city and also easy to get to Montmorency Chuttes, L'Ile d'Orleans, etc.
The room further away from street is probably the best.
Breakfast is very good and substantial.

This was an ideal BnB experience. The house has a lot of charm, the rooms nicely decorated and clean, the location very convenient (short bus ride to old city) and the breakfast was tasty. Daniel, our host, was also very friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay here again if I return to the city.

Only a few minutes drive to the Old City, this B&B was comfortable, quiet, and spotlessly clean. My husband and I stayed there for one night last week.

Our host, Daniel, was pleasant and informative.

The room was appointed with small fridge, microwave, and sink area. Though I only seem to recall two wine glasses and no other dishes, soap or washing or drying cloths. Perhaps they have those if requested.

We had an amazing sleep in one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. As well as beautiful linens and throw pillows on the bed, there was a sitting area, a/c, radio, and lighting options. There were soft, white towels, and a lush bathmat in the bathroom, along with q-tips, cosmetic pads, small toiletries (per usual), and a make-up mirror for when that bathroom sink area is already occupied. We loved the high ceilings, the medallion and chandelier, and traditional windows of this home from the late 1800s.

Breakfast the next morning was served in a lovely dining area, next to a living area, and consisted of coffee, tea, juices, water, and three courses. Fruit smoothie (served in a bowl) with a selection of yogurt, maple syrup, walnuts, granola, or homemade jam to add to it. This was followed by eggs benedict with hashbrowns and a tomato item that seemed to be fresh chopped tomatoes in olive oil and a touch of balsamic. And, if you still had room there was a dessert item...but I didn't catch what that was as we needed to head out and continue our road trip.

I missed having a luggage rack, and our two large pieces ended up on the floor. Again, perhaps they will provide on request, but we didn't ask for one due to being tired from our drive and just wanting to chill.

There is a bus route on the same street so, if that's your thing, it's easily found and quite frequent.

You will find a deck on the back of the house, accessible through the dining/living space, and open to guests to use at any time.

We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

I have been to many B&B but this one clearly stands out, the hosts are welcoming you in a beautiful historic house and they proudly tell you about the place. The rooms are large, well equiped, clean and with private bathrooms. They allow you to use the living room and large patio which does not confine you to a single room. Breakfast was hearthy delicious, tasty. Well located, close to the city but also next to Ile d'Orléans and Montmorency falls, you get around easily.
