My boyfriend and I decided to stay in Quebec City an extra night and stopped at this hotel because it had a vacancy sign. The owner seemed nice and spoke a little bit of English, and it was a rainy summer evening, so we decided to take our chances on the basement room offered. Big mistake. The ceilings are about... more

Whatever you do, do not book a room in the basement! We booked the room based on a friend's recommendation, the cheap rate and tripadvisor reviews, but we really wished we hadn't bothered. What an awful experience! The basement stinks of mold or mildew, I bought air freshener, which didn't help. We kept the doors open as much as possible,... more

Quel desapointement! We found great reviews about the old little hotel chateau de la terasse and followed our hearts and spent the first night of our trip in this little place. We took our time to get the perfect place for our first night in quebec city. So so disappointing. We had the room in the third floor (#16 i... more

Hubby and I stayed for 2 nights at this Chateau around the beginning of August 2006. We stayed in room #8, on the second floor with River views. Room #8 is a large room, and the window in the front opened wide enough for both of us to "lean out". (We really wanted a balcony room, but they were booked.... more

The hotel is ideally located in Old Quebec, overlooking the Dufferin Terrace, and very close to upper town attractions and restaurants, as well as the steps to lower town. IF you can book one of the rooms with a balcony above the Terrace (and you have to book really early to get one), this is a wonderful experience. We spent... more

What a charming hotel!!! We stayed 3 nights in July with another couple. We had room #1 on 1st floor which was very large with a balcony and they had a room on the 2nd floor which was beautiful. Both rooms had views of the boardwalk and river which was delightful. The service was exceptional and staff was very friendly.... more

My husband and I travel to Quebec every year to oil paint with renowned Delaware artist, Edward L. Loper, and his students. For the past 4 years we have stayed at the Chateau de la Terrasse Dufferin. The room (we have a favorite) is charming. The view is spectacular! And the staff low key, but friendly. Why would you stay... more

This hotel was just perfect. We are a family of 4 so we had 2 double beds and a pull-out couch. The bedroom and the bathroom were large and clean. Stacks of clean towels every day. We had a superb balcony overlooking the river and a stunning view of the Chateau Frontenac. We had our 2 college student children with... more

This was a marvellous find through tripadvisor for us. We stayed in Room #8 which has two double beds and also overlooks the St Laurence River. We were told where to park our car and also that, since the hotel is next door to the American Consulate, no one be taking anything from our overloaded car! They were right! It's... more

Spent Thanksgiving weekend at the Terrasse Dufferin and enjoyed it. My room was on the river side, third floor. The views of the St Lawrence and the Chateau Frontenac were fantastic. The room was charming with flowered wallpaper, a full size bed with a great floral comforter and nice antique furnishings. There was also a small balcony but they had... more
