This is the place if you want centrally located accomodation at a great price. The food is french at it's best and the dining room will be full of tourists, like yourself. But most of those tourists are staying at the (5 mins. walk away) Chateau Frontenac at $400 a night not the $100 a night you're paying. Take the... more

My husband and I have stayed at the Auberge du Tresor every year for the past 4 years and we love it. We were introduced by friends and have come with them every time. The history and ambiance is wonderful in keeping with the atmosphere of Quebec. We stay in a front room facing the Frontenac and its great to... more

You can't beat the location, right in the heart of Old Quebec. The food was 5 star and everyone was super friendly. The rooms are small and rather spartan and you'll have to lug your bags up a few stairs, but if you are looking for atmosphere the Auberge du Tresor has it in spades! more

I stayed here in September 2003. The Auberge du Tresor is in an excellent location, right in the heart Old Quebec City within the old city walls. It is right next to the famous Chateau Frontenac hotel and just a block from the escarpment overlooking the lower old town and the St. Lawrence River. The hotel looks beautiful from the... more

stayed 3 nites Oct 6, friends told us it was perfect, on a park and near everything, what they forgot was: small rooms, with bad beds, cold water showers, noisy, had to sleep with windows wide open since room was hot. food in their restaurant was good, get the cooked breakfast deal on booking, saves you money, but you can't... more

My husband and I just spent 3 nights at the Auberge du Tresor, and we loved the location and the price. The hotel is a charming building, but the room we had was a bit on the plain side. Another drawback is that the rooms facing the Hotel Frontenac are very noisy - especially in the morning. Notwithstanding the issues,... more

Two for two! My wife stayed here on our honeymoon last year and returned this year. One of our traditions is to enjoy champagne and strawberries on the eve of our arrival, a treat made easy courtesy of a nice restaurant below our room. The staff is always courtesy and the prices are hard-to-beat. We love the location, right by... more

I give the hotel an above average rating because the combination of price, location, and service places it there. But all that "romantic" stuff really depends, I guess, on taste. We did not find small quarters with Motel-6 towels and airline-sized soap bars to be romantic (although we certainly made the best of it). I don't think it would take... more

Located right in the middle of Old Quebec, this hotel is right on the main circle and right across from the Chateau Frontenac. Most rooms have a great view over the circle. The rooms are adequate in size and can have a large bathroom (or a fairly small one depending on the luck of the draw)I've stayed there on 6... more

Wonderful, charming hotel, in fact, it was so romantic that we bought my engagement ring while we stayed there! We have now been married for several years and will go back with our daughter this winter. The hotel dining package is incredible and featured excellent food and wine. more
