After reading about this hotel on TripAdvisor and in several different newspapers' Travel sections, a friend and I booked rooms for a weekend trip. It was a really nice stay. We loved the breakfasts (and the famous espresso machine!) and the big fireplace in the lobby/lounge. Staff members were all very friendly and helpful, even when it came to getting... More

This is a lovely hotel away, I can't say enough good things about it. The location is wonderful- in the lower city, away from the noisy and touristy upper city but still close to things. The room was beautiful and relaxing- dark and modern decor, very quiet. Service was top notch. Breakfast was a treat and no matter how many... More

We were initially interested in the Hotel Dominion because it received such a high rating on trip advisor (and the price was right!), but soon realized that we'd loved our stay at their sister hotel (Germain in Toronto) several years ago. So, we booked a week at the Dominion for just after Christmas, through New Years. Our visit was spectacular!... More

I chose to book my stay via phone because I had some questions about getting to the hotel from the train station. I made my reservations without any problem and was told that the hotel was a short walk from the hotel. It was and truth be told, you can practically walk everywhere in the city! My husband and I... We stayed at Hotel Dominion for 4 nights on our honeymoon, and we had a fantastic stay. The staff are incredible, from making great restaurant recommendations (and the reservations) to the turn down service with the radio quietly playing and the tv guide open to that night, everything was perfect. Also the breakfasts were delicious, with the most amazing croissants.... More

We stayed at this hotel five years ago, and even though we liked it a lot, we thought a different hotel would help make our return visit to Quebec City more interesting. We wanted to stay at the Auberge Saint-Antoine but it was booked so we came back to an old favorite. As most reviews indicate, this is a wonderful... More

We just came back from the Dominion and had a fantastic time! I don't know how anyone could have any complaints! The lobby is so beautiful, elegant, and the 24-hour free cappuccino/coffee/designer tea bar is worth the stay. Our room was cozy, immaculate, and again supremely elegant. But what puts this place head and shoulders abouve the rest is the... More

A friend and I stayed here overnight after a five-day vacation in Charlevoix and Saguenay. We found this hotel a delight - from the swing-away nightstand/tray thingy (complete with two lime-green apples in a chocolate brown bowl) to the walk-in rain shower with only a half-door of glass (to say nothing of the glass wall so that your companion could... The Dominion lobby has a cool vibe, but a vibe circa 1998. "Shabby chic" sofas and chairs, metallic silk curtains, wenge-ish wood fixtures all speak of trends past. Our room (Deluxe) was large and loft-like, but the carpet was worn, the furniture cheaply made (modern furniture with fake French hardware?), and the room was dirty! The bedskirt was soiled and... Perhaps there is the odd minor thing which could be improved – a way to turn off that little sensor-driven night-light in the bathroom, maybe – but really this hotel comes as close to being perfect as you are ever likely to encounter. Yes it is very well-located in the lower old town and it has funky bedrooms which are... More
