---original user review----- Subject: Hotel Clarendon Location: Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, North America Title: great htl for location and price ID#: 13369216 I found this hotel charming and depending on who was on duty very professsional and helpful. The location can't be beat. The food at the hotel is excellent. I ate all my meals there. There where big snow... more

My wife and I and two young sons, ages 10 and 8, stayed at the Clarendon Hotel for two nights on the first weekend in February. In short, the hotel is dreary and short on character. The rooms are small, the decor sombre and the halls shabby. The hotel is in desperate need of an update. This is not old-world... more

My girlfriend and I and her two young adult daughters spend three days between Xmas and New Year's at the Clarendon, and we were very pleased with the choice. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable (the high ceilings in this old building were a pleasure), the location of the hotel was ideal for walking just about anywhere in... more

Arrived at hotel around noon'ish on December 23rd and was given early check in to the room. Hotel seemed to be quiet over the Christmas period which was nice and was decorated beautifully. Stayed for 3 nights until Boxing Day and dinner in hotel restaurant flled with reservations quicky! Booked through a travel agency and was a little worried we... more

We just returned from 2 nights at the Clarendon, getting a deal for $445 Cdn which included dinner at their excellent restaurant, 2 mornings buffet breakfast and a $25 gift certificate which could be used at certain shops and restaurants, mainly on Rue de Petit Champlain. Staff was excellent, location perfect and underground parking garage steps away ($14 per day)... more

I just stayed at the Hotel Clarendon for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. The lobby was attractive and the room was very clean. I was surprised at how large the bathroom was also. I was traveling with 3 other adults, and even though we just had a regular room w/2 doubles, it seemed spacious. The location is great... more

Brilliant location in the old city. Staff very pleasant. Room was small but adequate although the decor was rather drab. The television unit was so large that it blocked half the window making the room very dark and the reading lights were not really bright enough. It was very quiet as we overlooked an inner courtyard. We booked at the... more

I was a little hesitant when I read the review that the hotel was "old and tired". What a pleasant suprise when I walked in the lobby. It was exactly what I had hoped for in Old Quebec. The desk staff was fantastic and answered (with patience) all my questions. We were on the 6th floor with 2 rooms. We... more

Great location, within the old city walls, and a pleasant art-deco building. Slightly old hotel, some creaky floors and noise from corridors. Good value buffet breakfast, reasonably priced valet parking- worth bearing in mind in Quebec city. Very good value, booked through Canadian Affair, in a brilliant old town location- would stay again. more

I can't believe this hotel isn't rated higher. I can't think of one negative thing to say about it. The location is simply the best. Right in the center of everything within the walls, a block or so from Chateau Frontenac, and easy access to Lower Town. We had a room with 2 double beds on the second floor. I... more
