The Port Royal provided a very large suite that was reasonably equipped and was a short stroll to the centre of the lower town. Staff were very good, there is (paid) parking on site and a restaurant and pub are in the same building. A garage immediately behind which is open late (possibly all night) has a reasonable stock of... More

Normally I would stay at the Fairmont Frotenac...but it was sold out. I stumbled onto Le Port Royal and I could not have been happier. The rooms are by far the largest I have seen in Quebec. I had a full suite with kitchen and the housekeeping was exceptional. The bell staff took our bags to our room and did... More

On the last night of our stay we found a bug in our room. I brought it to the front desk and they didn't even say sorry. Was hoping they might compensate us with something but they said nothing. The room was very nice but they only gave you enough coffee for 2 cups when we asked for more coffee... More

We spent three nights in what could be called a large studio apartment. The kitchen was great and the whole room was sparkling clean. Location is great as it is away from the crowds but still so easy to walk to all the wonderful sights in Quebec. Go to the Farmers Markets just near the hotel, they are well worth... More

We loved this small quaint hotel. Sandra at the front desk was very helpful in getting us the room we had originally requested. The rooms were fairly large considering this is a really old building. Clean sleek boutique style. The house wine we had at the bar was one of the best house wines we had in the old city.Food... More

My fiance and I stayed here for 2 nights on our first visit to Quebec City. We were happy with it's location in the lower town- it was less busy and touristy than the upper town and it gave us the chance to check out the farmer's market, the port and some good restaurants. Our room was on the corner... More

My husband, adult son and I spent a week in Canada spending our last three nights in this hotel. We had two deluxe rooms and were thrilled with both of them. The rooms were different in size and layout but both very comfortable, clean and unique. We didn't want our last nights to be spent at a cookie cutter hotel... More

My husband and I were trying to be budget conscious throughout our trip from Montreal to Gaspe. We decided to splurge for our night in Quebec city, as we did that once before and had a great time. When you walk into the hotel, it looks like a cheap nighties club trying really hard to be classy. Then, when you... More

We traveled as a family to Quebec, and were thrilled to stay in this historic hotel. Very close to numerous historic sites, free valet parking, large suites and good service. We enjoyed having lots of space, and a kitchen for breakfast and snacks. Excellent hotel, and much more interesting than a chain hotel.

Spent a week here after a chain hotel in Montreal and this was a delightful contrast. The rooms are modern but placed inside an old stone building which gives the place character and each room is unique - ours was a strange 'U' shape with the bathroom in the middle. We did pay for a larger 'delux' suite but the... More
