The room/apartment was a lot smaller than expected. The tiny "kitchen" is basically a tiny extension of the hotel room, and you can't even cook there because any smell from cooking will make the room and everything in it smell for hours. Not to mention the poor ventilation system, which left the room very musky. There was a thermostat but... More

This "hotel" is very well located, close to the center of montreal but don't expect services. As someone pointed out, if you run out of paper toilet, you must go out buy yours. The wifi is crap and don't think using the sofa bed for a child, it's so old that it's impossible to use it. This "hotel" is good... More

Staff very helpfull, the room was big and confortable. We foun a few spiders in our room, it was a little bit scary, but overall everything was nice. It is necessary to remmember that it is not a hotel. They have small apartments, so you have to keep you room clean in the time of your stay or pay for... More

We lived in Montreal for 6 years and always recommended this place to friends and family, even staying here ourselves for the two weeks before we moved away last year. We've never known anyone to be unhappy. It is not luxurious by any means, and it appears that some other reviewers mistook it for a standard hotel -- it's an... More

First, the biggest offense. It's "non smoking" but there are ashtrays in the kitchen and no no-smoking signs anywhere. So smoking is NOT discouraged AT ALL, they simply ignore it's happening. It stinks and my troath is irritated being in my room. I could not connect to wi-fi despite my computer seeing my room # connection and entering the correct password,... More

Stayed here for a week in May. Nice reception area, pool and elevators were quick. Front office staff were very pleasant. Room, although it had a great view of Mont Royal, was odd. When we arrived, we found that the windows had been siliconed shut and that the wall thermostat didn't work. The front desk sent up a couple of... More

We stayed in Trylon in a studio for 5 nights in June 2013. My wife and I like staying in apartments when we stay longer than 4 days in a same city. The location is very good: it is near Sherbrooke West avenue, there are plenty of restaurants nearby, a supermarket, some grocery stores and a subway station (Place des... More

well situated within easy walking distance to hundreds of restaurants, supermarket, & downtown Montreal. Kitchenette was nice to have and the room is large. No daily room service provided nor needed in my case. Could not reduce room temperature except by opening balcony door. As I was on 22nd floor with a great view of Mount Royal, there were no... The appartment was clean. All kitchen equipment was good. All the things needed to have a good stay. Even parking was free on side streets. Good bang for the buck. it is also close to all nice places in Montreal.

I stayed two nights in a studio on the 15th floor. The room was spacious and equipped OK. It was clean and tidy. The bed was large and very hard (although I slept OK). The room also had a balcony. Although some attempts had been made to re-furb the room, it was essentially rather tired. The old-fashoined air-con stuck to... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
