This is a cute little b&b in Montreal, close to the Latin Quarter and Village neighborhoods. The rooms are small, but air conditioned and nice. We stayed on the bottom floor, which was convenient - all rooms upstairs required you to carry your bags up a narrow stairway. Breakfast is freshly made and fairly good, although it was served outside,... More

This B&B is within walking distance of Downtown Montreal. Never needed to use the subway, but there were nearby stops. Easy to get to Old Town and Rue de St Catherine. The room was small, but cute and funky. Breakfast was wonderful!

A favorite way to experience a little bit of Paris is to stay in a b&b in Montreal. We prefer to feel like we're at an authentic home away from home when we travel. Le Simone provided us with exactly what we were yearning for. For the experience we had a sizable room with our own bathroom and a view... More

We stayed two nights. The location is near by old town area with 10 minutes walk. There are hundreds restaurants, pubs and cafes surrounding. The own and staffs were kind and gave us information to explore the city. The house is around 140 years old, the stairs is narrow and steep though, if you have big suitcase, it might take... More

I have stayed at Le Simone and adjoining Le Chasseur a number of times over the years. Roc and his staff do an excellent job and will see to your needs (they even have umbrellas, if you need one). You will have a comfortable and pleasant stay at either place. The rooms are tasteful and clean. Many have their own... More

We stayed for 7 days at this nice B&B. It is close to metro Berri-UQAM and to shops and restaurants. Friendly staff, great breakfast, familiar atmosphere. Will stay there again during our next visit to Montreal

I really enjoyed my three nights at Le Simone. The location is perfect--you are just a block away from the biggest connecting subway station and an easy walk to the main drags and Old Town. The owner was very friendly and helpful...he gave me a map and pointed out all the areas worth visiting. My room was spacious and well-decorated.... More

Le Simone is a lovely B&B conveniently located just steps from the Metro. The staff is friendly, attentive and they make a great breakfast each morning. Rooms are tastefully decorated and the building is in a charming neighborhood, walking distance to The Village and The Latin Quarter.

I have stayed at Le Simone for 8 years now. Sadly I don't get to visit Montreal as often as I like, but Le Simone is the first accommodation I check. It comes with no parking, but the proprietor is very helpful with pre-marked street parking map in hand to help stow the car. The location is superb. The breakfasts... More

Great location in Montreal. Close to Metro, the bus station, downtown and the gay village. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfasts are great. There are a few drawbacks, it is not disability accessible. No parking. Small rooms. These drawbacks are more than balanced out by location, location, location. This is my regular stop in Montreal. Wonderful outdoor terrace when the... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
