What you get on the website compared to what you get in real is miles apart. We were stuck at the top of the hotel which is basically a building site. I had to climb over plasterboard to get to the most disgusting shared bathroom I have ever seen. The photos for this hotel are very cleverly done, because he... More

No hot water. The drawers were broken. The bathrooms had a really bad odor. There was too much noise of the elvator over night. Yes the hotel was cheap but not worth it. However the service by the employees was nice.

Three sets of couples stayed here for one night in October 2014. We were going to the hockey game and going out after. Check in was not too bad although slow. Two of three rooms were ready. They were not on the same floor as requested. When the third room was ready, it wasn't actually cleaned. Our friends told front... More

I originally was a little concerned by the surrounding businesses, but that was quickly put to rest. I stayed here for 6 nights and couldn't have been more happy. The Front desk staff was so willing to speak English, and got us checked in at 9 am. I would totally stay here again! Some people are raising questions of cleanliness,... More

Stayed in Hotel Villa for two nights, great location and the rooms are definitely a lot nicer than reviewers were making them out to be, though the heater is kind of useless. Also the walls are thin, but it wasn't a problem for us. Bed is nice, bathroom is spacious, water runs amazing. VERY clean despite what others are saying.... More

Short and sweet: I've stayed in hostels so much nicer and cleaner than this. Old and run down rooms/overall hotel. Heater is useless, rooms are cold. Do not use the elevator at all! Linen is questionable and wouldn't recommend using the bed cover which doesn't help when the room is cold! Rooms do have a fridge which is pointless with... More

Hotel Villa is in a great location for tourists, close to the Quartier de Spectacles and metro stations. It is a short walk to Old Montreal, Chinatown and shopping strips. The staff are friendly and willing to help when needed. However, if you are a light sleeper or don't sleep well with noise around, be aware. There is a neighbouring... More

This place was booked by a group for my co-workers and I and all I can say is this place should not be called a hotel, it is nothing more than a hostel or flop house. To get started the lobby is a clear indication of all the things that say run from this place. The elevator is a death... More

DO NOT STAY HERE!! These guys are absolute crooks. Stayed here for a cheap hotel and they charged me $200 for having "7 people stay in my room" ... I had 2 people in my room - I don't even know anyone in Montreal. I knew this because I, unlike the employee, was in the room. They charged it purely... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
