Incompetent staff: they had to be told repeatedly to complete tasks that they should have completed before I arrived, and even after being told repeatedly they still failed to complete them. For example, the room had not been cleaned or the toiletries and towels restocked - after telling the staff at least three times the task was almost completed. When... More

Absolute dump. Dirty, smelly, grimy towels, used bar and hair in shower, garbage not emptied, rude, indifferent staff. Room faced onto Rene Levesque, so noise from revelers and other guests kept me up until 4 am. Highlight was hotel staff pounding on every door at 11:45 am reminding people that they must vacate the room at noon. Really an overpriced... More

I was stunned to check into this dreadful dump! After reviewing the bedroom they tried to tell me was a suite, and the converted solarium they called an upgrade! I walked out and had to find somewhere else! Soiled mattresses leaning against the hall walls, paper thin walls, and charging prices like they are the Lord Berri or Le Gouverneur!... More

My business partner booked me into A2K Hotel last weekend, as our usual haunts at Lord Berri, Le Gouverneur, were booked up! I had no idea what I was in for! Arriving at bye corner of Mackay and Rene Levecque, you see an awning leading to the basement and a huge 70's era sign advertising the Mahajarah Buffet! The building... More

No choice of room if you have lots of luggage prepare yourself to carry all upstairs..all rooms are located upstairs. Not very good breakfast. But very close to shopping areas in St. Catherine. Not very satisfied. Not worth the price.

First off the only good thing about this hotel is location, the rooms were never cleaned, a strange man tried to follow me to my room pretending to be a hotel employee and the actual hotel staff did nothing to stop this, the phones in the room do not work. When I tried to call after my stay and speak... More

We saw three rooms in this hotel, ranging from a hot, dirty conservatory to a small dirty room with no bath linens and did not stay in any of them. The carpets are filthy and worn, the hotel is a rabbit warren with electric cables exposed running along corridors and there was a very unpleasant smell. It should be condemned.... More

This room had a quaint feel about it so for one night it was great, clean, and cute. But there is no desk and no fridge, so a longer stay might prove a little difficult. The staff is nice. I worked past the end of the free breakfast but when I finally got there, they brought me coffee and muffin... More

Stay 3 night in the hotel located in downtown. Several very good restaurants nearby. The breakfast is free with bread and drink available. The room is small with 19" TV. Wifi id free but signal is pretty much weak and slow. Do NOT use the parking beside the hotel. My car was broken during the 1st night.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel for three nights at the end of June, 2015. The good: I will start by saying that for the price you won't find a better location. Additionally the check in staff was friendly, the room was clean and the breakfast was decent (nothing special but enough to get your on your way).... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
