My friend and I visited this hotel of hell for one night and had to cut short our trip due to our car being broken into while sitting under surveillance cameras that were promised to work and keep our belongings safe, but after the car was broken into the cameras apparently were not working. There was only a master key... More

This "hotel" blatantly ripped me and my friends off when we stayed here for one night. We had planned a trip to Montreal on for a night to see a Canadians game and found this hotel that was close by so we thought we would give it a try. We booked two seperate rooms with one double bed in each... More

Great location for Bell Centre and pubs. Last minute game and we needed a room quick. This was the cheapest and we know why. It's a pretty run down joint. Pictures will tell the story. We just checked our credit card bill and they charged us 70$+ more than what we booked with on booking.com. I have put a complaint... More

First, this is a budget hotel that I chose for a brief overnight stay due to its central location and price in downtown Montreal. Very close to Centre Bell and Place Bonaventure. Room was a very reasonable $55 for a single, but the front desk immediately upgraded me to a queen at no cost as they were not very busy.... More

No elevator so I, an elder person, was helped by the evening staff up the stairs with my luggage. Once upstairs you are in an average style room that is warm and cosy. Even tho on a main street it was quiet. Staff are as different as night and day literally! Night staff who was also breakfast chef was awesome... More

Great location smack downtown montreal close to bars strip clubs restaurants and the bell center. The free breakfast is nothing but boxed cereal. There was fruit Flys around the bar but the staff was very friendly and helpul even found me a black marker to color in a bleach stain on my favorite black pants :)

It's unfortunate that the potential is not being filled here. The bldg. itself is a beautiful old house with some original detail still left--though most of it has been replaced by rather tacky decor. Nonetheless, we were grateful to have landed a decent room during a very busy holiday wkend. The location is good. It's not far from the metro... More

I traveled around Canada for 2 weeks and this little gem in the heart of Montreal was a great find. Attentive and genuinely caring staff, location is perfect for shopping, sightseeing, bars, clubs and old Montreal. Only a 10 min drive from the Montreal Casino. Interior could maybe do with a refurb at some point, but it was clean and... More

When I booked this it said the hotel had an Indian restaurant. When we arrived I saw that really the hotel is IN the Indian restaurant!!! Or it looks that way! Should be called Hotel Maharaja and it would be easier to spot. Overall though, we had a good experience, the room was clean and adequate and the location is... More

eware! Horrible communication, went against booking.com policies. I booked on booking.com with the condition being 0 $ cancellation fee if cancelled up to 24 hours before the stay. I ended up cancelling three weeks before my stay and I was still charged the full amount for one night. After 5 phone calls, there is still no resolution or any action... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
