A group of our cousins went to Montreal one week in December and stay at this hotel for a night. We had fun. It's a 4 star hotel, 5 minutes walk from Berri UQAM Metro station, close to shops, restaurants and bars. We have cable TV and minifridges, free wifi, whirlpool tubs in our rooms and free breakfast the next... More

Yes the price is good but that is the only good thing about it. It is in the only part of town that I felt unsafe. The room is large. Bed was very firm I was scratching all night and that was sleeping on the top of the covers. The room was not cleaned during our 5 day stay. Did... More

We were a family with two rooms. I was pretty apprehensive after reading many reviews and expected the worst. The good thing was that it only got better. Reception was helpful enough, clean sheets, no bed bugs, no bad smell, carpet clean, toilet worked, and breakfast was what one should expect for a 2 star. The downside was the wifi... More

It's the least expensive hotel that I have booked so far in Montreal, so I wasn't really expecting much. Overall, the hotel did the job for us--a budget stay in a location close to where we needed to be. To start, underground parking was comparatively cheap at $12 per day and located directly across the street, so that was convenient.... More

It was our first vacation as a Family and we were very disappointed. Our room was so dirty, especially the bathtub and shower curtain. We would not stay here again if we visited Montreal again. Too dirty.

Simple clean and comfortable room. Just around the corner from the bus station - walking distance to so much fun in Montreal! Smoked meat from Schwartz's was still warm when I walked back to teh hotel!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in July and i found it pretty good for the price i payed. The room was a decent size and with 2 double bed that were comfortable. Fresh towels everyday, a small fridge and even a coffee machine. It is conveniently located near the Berri Uqam metro station, super close to St... More

Good location. Relatively clean. Very thin walls. Expect to hear your neighbours, simply conversing. Bring earplugs. Breakfast is typical. Front desk people very kind and helpful with directions. Expect to get what you pay for.

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
