I had never stayed at a b&b. A friend recommended Maison Des Jardins where I spent three wonderful days last March. It was a lovely home and the accommodations were extremely comfortable; breakfast was plentiful & nutritious. Its convenient location to all that Montreal's cultural life has to offer made it easy to get around. I would highly recommend for... More

You can't beat the location of the charming B&B, it's minutes from Beaudry Metro and the gay village. Clean spacious rooms, I had a garden suite which was actually in the basement, but you wouldn't know! The daily breakfast was home made and very filling. Very friendly staff and owners, can't beat this place!

I am writing this review of Maison des Jardins and we have not even left yet. We fly out tomorrow morning but I am already missing this place. I am so depressed to leave this welcoming city and most of all to leave Maison des Jardins. I can say with all honesty that this is the most welcoming place I... More

A friend recommended this BnB. Being a local, he said several of his friends who visit & like to be close to The Village all have raved about it: they are correct! Paul & Marc, the "houseboys", made me feel perfectly at home--was my 1st time in Montreal! Breakfasts were a low-key social event. Made friends with other guests; one... More

It was my second stay at the Maison Des Jardins and hopefully not my last. The B&B is comfortabe and well located for sightseeing in Montreal and for bars and pubs in the gay village. I would recommend the place to everybody especially for its excellent breakfast.

A garden right next door to the bars !!! Incredible to be walking 2 minutes from all the bars (Eagle, Stud, Unity) and be in this quiet, clean and warm place ! Breakfasts are generous, people are charming... I told you : home without your mother !

Just had a 5-night stay at this quiet, sweet B&B, it was actually my first time staying at a B&B and a gay one at that, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Luc and Robert turned out to be very welcoming, genuine hosts, best part of the breakfast for me was their home made strawberry and peach jam, place... More

This is a such an amazing place. The Robert & Luc let you have the run of the house, so you feel you're in your own home. One night, I bought in my own wine, bread and paté and enjoyed some great conversations with the other guests. We even went into the hot tub in November - it was awesome.... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
