Chic and cute, the pleasant owner was there to greet us and direct us to the handy indoor Parking at the St Denis theatre directly across the street. The room is clean, nicely decorated quiet and absolutely suitable if you're looking for a place to attend the theatre and enjoy the many restaurants only steps away.

I stayed there for three nights on a trip to Montreal. The area is nice, full of restaurants, in a walking distance to Old Montreal, and with great accessibility to metro (just around the corner!). Parking is available, although it took me some time to find it. The staff was really helpful and kind on the phone, and there were... More

Overall this was a nice stay in a small boutique hotel in the Latin Quarter of Montreal. Great for nightlife and within walking distance of Old Montreal and other neighborhoods/sites. It is also very close to the metro so it's accessible. Pros: -Easily accessible -Discounted parking available in the garage across the street ($15/day + tax) -Nespresso machine -Modern, updated... Fantastic hotel in wonderfully vibrant Rue St.Denis. The day we arrived, there was a street festival and many more followed during our stay. The rooms were clean and Albert was generously helpful with his time and suggestions for places to go, see, do and eat. He's recommendations were always dead on, especially the bakery suggestion. The entire staff is lovely.... More

This is a lovely small hotel in the throbbing heart of Rue St. Denis. If you want vibrant night life, walk out the door and turn left or right and there it is. The hotel itself is a classic Montreal walk up. The rooms are a tad small but very well done, and given the street scene outside, quite quiet,... More

Clean and comfortable rooms. We were upgraded to a suite but all the rooms seemed adequate. Fun location across from a theatre. Tons of restaurants within walking distance. Also just a great central location walking distance to Old Montreal and many other attractions. Excellent staff as well.

My husband and I first stayed at Le Relais back in 2011 and had a great experience, so when we found ourselves headed back to Montreal, it was a no-brainer to book a room with them again. As was our first experience, our room was large, impeccably clean, modern, comfortable, and outfitted with a great bathroom/shower. Management (the owner?) was... More

This establishment has just seven rooms on three floors; you should be warned, in case you are and overweight elder with knee problems , then either do not come here or ask for a room on the first floor; In case you have heavy luggage, the receptionist (owner??) will have it sent up for you; I tested two rooms, both... The rooms are tastefully decorated - hardwood floors, brick wall, wood shutters - functional, with many enjoyable features: dawn feather duvet, espresso machine in each room, a variety of teas, dark chocolate by the bed, organic lotion, shampoo and conditioners. Surprisingly peaceful, considering its location, in the heart of the Rue St-Denis, close to many bars and restaurants. The subway... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
