Stayed for a little weekend getaway and loved it. Service is super, our room was super clean and very quiet. Rooms are small but very comfortable. Hotel is well kept. loved the old feel with modern twist ambiance. You can find everything close to the hotel restaurants, nightlife, convenience store and subway station close by. I will definitly stay again!

Stayed here for a night prior to meeting friends coming into Montreal for a weekend trip. Previous reviews mentioned the area was sketchy - I would not agree with this. Yes, there were panhandlers out, but none were aggressive or inappropriate. Coming from a big city, it's nothing surprising for me. As to the hotel itself, what I did not... More

Stayed a long weekend in March. This compact hotel is well appointed, feels comfortable and welcoming after walking through the snow. Parking is free! Parking is across the street under the movie theater, and no complaints from me. This block of St. Denis has endless restaurants of every kind, and Tim Hortons is next door. You can't beat that. The... More

I stayed there for one week in February. I had read reviews about the location not being that safe which was a concern as I was there by myself. I have to say that the place is great. At first, I needed to get used to the size of the rooms which are smaller than regular hotel rooms. But the... More

I stayed here with my sister from Feb 20-23, 2015. They were completely ready for us when we arrived and even let us check in a little early due to our flight time. They also upgraded our room to a bigger suite for free (not sure why, but it was nice). The room was actually really beautiful and very clean.... More

Ideal location, incredibly helpful and friendly staff, great decor, amazing price. Truly a secret gem in Montreal - a boutique hotel experience without the cost. Look no further, this is where you should stay. Made my trip immeasurably better!

Albert is such an accommodating manager, checked in super late from flight delay and he had everything ready to go for me. Room was very nice, great shower, quiet and slept like a baby. Location was super convenient, right there for the 747 airport, orange, and green line. Buy a buss pass and you can get anywhere in minutes. Did... More

Love this place!!! Very friendly staff Albert is a great Manager who always thinks of his guests. He recommended restaurants and places to shop. This cozy awesome place that has lots of charm will make anyone's stay in Montreal a pleasant experience. This is a must stay in the cool Latin quarter. Ok so this hotel is lovely but I had to drag my (heavy) luggage down the stairs when leaving. The owner was lovely and helpful but as we left early in the morning he was not around so we had to carry our luggage down the stairs and then down some more stairs..it was definitely a workout.

Thinking long and hard about this review....The hotel should really get a 4 but I can't get over the unease I felt about the location. We went for a ten day trip to Canada starting in a hotel in Montreal near the Notre Dame...A much nicer area...and returning to Montreal to stay at this hotel. It's not for the elderly... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
