This was actually my first time staying at a hostel as I never realized you could find such comfortable, private accommodations at these properties. I was very pleased with my room in terms of size, cleanliness and amenities, including a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker as well as a nice sized flat screen TV. There was even a phone.... The best hostel I've been to. I had a really great experience there. Clean, great/helpful staff and I think, with a good location. It seems like a Hotel, not a Hostel. If you need a good and confortable place, go there. I loved this place.

The hotel came a a little bit of a shock when we arrived. It seemed more Hostel than Hotel, full of young backpackers, but soon realised it does cater for all ages. The staff were all very friendly, and spoke perfect English, in fact we did not encounter anyone in Montreal who was not bilingual. The room was novel, bath... More

We spent 2 nights in room 20. We were not impressed by the noise in the room caused by the airco and the proximity to the terrace, combined with thin walls making us enjoy the neighbours and their neighbours. Staff was super friendly and helpful. It was nice to sit and relax in the lobby. Breakfast was basic and good!

Stayed here on my way across Canada. Excellent place in a great location basically walking distance to everything. The 4 bed dorms with an ensuite are clean and comfy. Staff were more than helpful with any enquiry that I had about the city.

We arrived after 12AM and there was someone at the front desk that took care of us as if it would be 9AM. up with a good mood and showed us around everything. The bed was comfortable, the shower downstairs was nice. although I had to pass the common area it was fine, since it was in middle of the... More

Great location, super friendly, informative and efficient check-in. We had the Jacuzzi Suite - clean, roomy with a fridge and microwave. Inclusive of breakfast and Wi-Fi. Reasonable parking rates 3 doors down... Very happy with our choice. Certainly stay here again if visiting Montreal. Recommended.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst I was attending a festival. Unfortunately I never got to experience the lounge area or the free breakfast (I couldn't bring myself to get up that early each day!). The staff were really friendly and helpful. My friend and I had the double private room. It was alright. Clean, comfortable, basic, had a fridge... More

My husband and I stayed here for five days in early April 2015. We booked through Hostelbookers and I think booked a 'deluxe private', arrived to find our room had a Jacuzzi! Really the room was hotel quality at a hostel price, great value. The breakfast in the morning, which was included, was also delicious, and the 24 hour reception/bar... More

I stayed in this place before it was redone a couple of years ago, and it was good then. Little did I know when I stayed here the second time, a couple of weeks ago, that the place would be totally redone, with free Mac access, a nice choice of private or shared rooms, an amazing staff and overnight manager,... Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
