Super clean, aesthetic, wonderful housekeeping staff that change towels daily, nice rooms with bathroom connected to room (no sneaking out into the hallways in a towel), awesome free breakfast each morning and generally just great! I will definitely stay here next time I'm in Montreal. ALSO for $10 housekeeping staff will wash, dry and fold your dirty washing. Made a... More

We stayed here for three nights in July in the Deluxe double room. It was like a hotel room and much better than what I would usually expect in a hostel! Our room had the jacuzzi and was very spacious with a huge king sized bed. The room had a small fridge, air conditioning and was very quiet. We really... More

If not for the the staff and in particular the free walking tour offered by Claude (who is a very very cool guy) I would rate the place average. The room is really small, first thing I saw as I walked in was the toilet, we had a bunk bed. But the treatment by the front desk girl, and the... More

Stayed with a group of 10 friends, we booked out an 8 bed room and a 4 bed room between us. Both rooms very well kept, clean, light and airy with en suites. Excellent wifi signal throughout (wifi was free). Breakfast included and was tasty and plenty of it. Staff are welcoming and very knowledgeable about the city. Free tours... More

This was actually my first time staying at a hostel as I never realized you could find such comfortable, private accommodations at these properties. I was very pleased with my room in terms of size, cleanliness and amenities, including a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker as well as a nice sized flat screen TV. There was even a phone.... The best hostel I've been to. I had a really great experience there. Clean, great/helpful staff and I think, with a good location. It seems like a Hotel, not a Hostel. If you need a good and confortable place, go there. I loved this place.

The hotel came a a little bit of a shock when we arrived. It seemed more Hostel than Hotel, full of young backpackers, but soon realised it does cater for all ages. The staff were all very friendly, and spoke perfect English, in fact we did not encounter anyone in Montreal who was not bilingual. The room was novel, bath... More

We spent 2 nights in room 20. We were not impressed by the noise in the room caused by the airco and the proximity to the terrace, combined with thin walls making us enjoy the neighbours and their neighbours. Staff was super friendly and helpful. It was nice to sit and relax in the lobby. Breakfast was basic and good!

Stayed here on my way across Canada. Excellent place in a great location basically walking distance to everything. The 4 bed dorms with an ensuite are clean and comfy. Staff were more than helpful with any enquiry that I had about the city.

We arrived after 12AM and there was someone at the front desk that took care of us as if it would be 9AM. up with a good mood and showed us around everything. The bed was comfortable, the shower downstairs was nice. although I had to pass the common area it was fine, since it was in middle of the... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
