My friends and I ended up at this hotel by chance after basically being turned away from a hotel up the street. We had a really great experience overall and were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and the wonderful customer service.

The hotel is located very nicely in central Montreal with Berry-UQAM, the main Metro hub located nearby. The reception desk and breakfast room are nice too and the owner is very friendly. However when we entered the room, we seriously considered checking out immediately. It smelled very bad (and even letting fresh air in for an hour didn't help here,... More

They do non mention that the hotel does not have an elevator. In fact I was quite surprised when I discovered that I had to carry my ludgages myself on the stairs (3th floor). We booked a room for three persons and they prepared the room just for two so we had to ask for blankets and prepare the third... More

This hostel/hotel was super cheap and the rooms were MASSIVE! We had 2 double beds, our own TV, bar-fridge, ironing board, etc. The location was fantastic and the staff were super friendly. Not only that, but a continental breakfast was included! I would definitely stay here again.

The room was small compared to chain hotels but since we were going to be out most of the time, it was fine. It was very clean and the price with taxes was $64. The room had a desk area with a ethernet connection and wireless was available also. The TV only had 6 or 7 channels, 3 in English.... More

This is a nice enough hotel, and right in the middle of the action during summer festival season but I had some problems. One is the suggestion on their website that the gold rooms come with a parking spot. In fact, there is no parking, and they simply invite you to use the public parking garage under the library, a... Great hotel, room was very quiet. Great central location to attractions and in a very lively area in the city. Service was excellent we had a minor problem with the luggage but the staff took care the problem promptly. Room is a bit small but that's to be expected for a Montreal hotel; room was extremely clean. No complaints at... More

I stayed here 2 days and it was very central for going out in the night. In the small room in the upper floor was no internet connection, but it was clean. Breakfast was good.

We booked four nights there and the first night literally more than 100 bed bugs crawled on our beds. And BITE US!!! Some were bean sized!!!! We had to leave the hotel the next morning, but had to leave our luggages and clothes in the room to get exterminated. I asked for a refund for the rest of the nights... More

Seasangel, Manager at Hotel Montreal Espace Confort, responded to this review

Our hotel experienced a recent problem with bed bugs within one of our rooms. The staff apologized for the inconvenience with respect, and helped the clients for searching another hotel to stay at for the night. This was taken into much consideration, since our hotel has never experienced problems as such ( proof with our past reviews from our clients... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
