This little hotel is situated less than half an hours walk from Old Montreal and close to streets packed with nice places to eat and drink. Trendy streets full of shops and cafes run off the road it sits on. We found a great bar with live music a stones throw away across the road and a boulangerrie right next... More

We only stayed here a night and it was very pleasant. The staff was attentive, knowledgable, and friendly. If they didn't know the answer to something, they would research for us. The hotel front looks like a storefront but don't let that discourage you from booking. By not having too much to manage outside of the rooms, it seems the... More

Wonderful experience. Stayed for one night and the service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Rooms very immaculate and clean, we had a room with a tiny kitchenette which had everything if you really wanted to make a meal, great bathroom with everything. Lovely and decorated very tastefully, beds very comfortable. Close to the Plateau area... More

Very elegantly decorated rooms. Kitchenette in the room and a jacuzzi in the bathroom. Not the quietest room I've ever had but far from the noisiest. Very helpful hotel staff. The boulangerie next door to the hotel is amazing, go there. The hotel does not have an elevator but fear not, they ha e concierge service free of charge! WiFi... More

We stayed for a long weekend for rest and relaxation and our room at Hotel Kutuma provided exactly what we needed and wanted. Their attention to detail is wonderful. Our room had a separate bathroom with a juccuzi. The bed was so comfortable and the entire room was quite spacious and clean! We found this was a great location for... More

Along with the adjoining ground-floor restaurant (Le Nil Bleu / The Blue Nile -- AMAZING Ethiopian food, casual fine-dining), Kutuma Hotel has a lot of heart, personality and attention to detail evident throughout. Would definitely recommend for travelers looking for a unique, charming hotel experience in Montreal. Don't miss the restaurant! Very very good food.

This place is a gem, its located right in the center on St Denis. Its walking distances to downtown and Mont royal mountain. The staff was helpful from check in to checkout. It seem like the receptionist was new and was trying his best to accommodate us. Not to mention the restaurant, it was a wonderful treat to try Le... More

I had a late check in (11pm) and my stay was only for one night. Check in was easy, except they gave me a room which was already assigned to someone else. So quite an embarrassing moment for me while attempting to open a door (thank god it didn't open) otherwise I don't even want to imagine what would have... More

With frequent trips to Montreal, we continue to prefer Hotel Kutuma to any other hotel in the city. Staff is consistently pleasant and helpful. Rooms are comfortable, beautifully decorated and spotless. We love the location situated near wonderful restaurants and great boutique shopping. Do take the opportunity to eat at the hotel restaurant, Le Nil Bleu (Blue Nile). The food... More

Hotel Kutuma is a gem. Located in The Plateau area of Montreal, it is in one of the nice neighborhoods, two minutes from the Metro and bus stops and shares the building with 'The Nile', Ethiopian restaurant-truly yummy and reasonably priced.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
