A great B&B. Staff are always considerate, friendly, and helpful. Location can not be beat, close to Concordia and McGill, Mtl. General Hospital, etc. Having stayed a few times now, always in a different room, we have been impressed with the uniqueness of each of the rooms. Further, accommodations are comfortable and clean, and the exposed brick walls add to... More

This was a very convenient and comfortable place (home away from home) while visiting my daughter at McGill. I've previously stayed at two nearby hotels and will now stay here every time. Loved the Greystone suite!

Hi BLandBH! Thank you for your kind review! We loved having you and please come back again soon. We strive to have that "home away from home" feel which is exactly why we included a kitchenette in all our suites, so I'm so happy to see that you felt that way while here :) We're introducing a new promotion for... As others have said ...friendly & helpful staff, comfortable and down to earth with nice rooms to choose from and great firm beds. We stayed in the Brick Room last April when we were picking up our son from Concordia. Nice and very spacious with a decent size bathroom on the first floor at the front of the house. This... More

Hi Susan! I am so happy you enjoyed your stay with us! We try to be as accommodating as possible :) As always, we appreciate feedback! You can actually thank one of our guests helpful hints for our upgraded beds this year. We are happy to report new beds in all of our suites and two of our rooms :)... More

My wife and I stayed for a weekend at University Bed&Breakfast on labor day weekend with packs of froshes roaming the streets. The rooms and breakfast were excellent. The location is actually very central for accessing Plateau and Old Town. We went to Jean Talon market and used the kitchenette to have a wine and cheese dinner. I would stay... More

Hi Iac14! Thank you to you and your wife for staying with us! I'm glad you had an easy time accessing Montreal's historical sites. Going to Jean Talon for fresh baguette, cheese, and wine is a very French and Montreal thing to do! Please come again soon and share a glass of wine with staff during our Friday lunches :)... More

These people are all so nice. April who made the reservation was funny and smart. I was lucky to get rooms just before the conference I went to, two nice rooms, April volunteered to move my bags from room to room so I could stay at the conference all day. The place is beautiful, not super fancy but super comfy,... More

Hi Chris! Thank you for your review! We love April too and she thanks you and says "I'm famous!" lol We're glad that your conference went well and that we were able to help out. It's true, our parking is a tight fit. We do have street parking, but parking is generally tricky in the city so we like to... More

We just got back from this wonderful B & B for the second time. I stayed in the 'Greystone' suite last October, and this October in the 'Red Suite'. Both were equally lovely, although the shower in the Greystone suite beats any shower I have ever had! The rooms are really practical and well designed with separate sleeping and relaxation... More

We really enjoyed our stay at University Bed and Breakfast. We were in town for a wedding and this was a great spot from which to explore Montreal one foot, and using public transport. The Yellow Suite in which we stayed, was on ground level, which made for easy access, but meant that we couldn't leave the windows open for... More

We stayed in the white suite (with kitchenette ) in September 2014 for 5 nights visiting McGill University and Montreal. If your main interest is McGill or Mont Royal, this is it ! No other places could offer you better value than this B&B. Yes, it is in the "student ghetto" , but the rooms are clean, people are friendly,... More

This is the fourth year I have stayed at this B and B. I come every fall and the hospitality, location and atmosphere can't be beat. Friendly and helpful staff make it a five star. Breakfast is served in a bright room above street level. I stayed in a few other B and B's (one was the worst I have... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
