We stayed in the loft over the weekend, and were treated to a wonderful experience. A beautifully maintained and tastefully decorated slice of Victorian Montreal. Denis has done a fantastic job of making this auberge beautiful to look at and comfortable. The room was large, airy and sunlit with windows overlooking Ontario street as well as the bac yard. Though... More

Been travelling for business in the area. Always stay here. All the comforts of home in a beautiful setting. All the charm of a B&B but with a high degree privacy. Excellent variety for breakfast and fresh bread for a midnight snack. Highly recommended!

Very welcoming atmosphere (thank you, Denis!) Impressive interior and great breakfast. Make sure to try blueberry jam - it's unbelievably delicious. 15 minutes walk to Montreal City Hall. We'll certainly be back.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend in the garden villa. The room was awesome with two beds a fire place and nice soaking tub. The location was an easy walk to the subway and also right across the street from some nice bars. The owners were super nice and the morning breakfasts were also provided. We... More

Stayed for three nights. First time in Montreal and Denis was a great host with restaurant and bar recommendations as well as great advice on getting around. The B&B was lovely. We stayed in the dormer room which was cosy and relaxing and reasonably priced. Delicious breakfasts each morning to boot. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed for two nights in October. Wish we could have stayed longer. Denis, the owner, is proud of his home and it shows. He has restored the home into one that reflects the time of the era with period antiques, artwork, and furnishings. The house is stunning. The room we had was one of comfort and charm. It was... I have had the privilege of staying here over the years and it never disappoints. As much as a trip to Montréal is about metropolitan charms, walking into this little inn is always like stepping back in time. The carefully restored woodwork, the care given to comfort and aesthetics, the fabulous breakfasts, amazing location (an easy walk into Old Montréal,... More

My wife and I have stayed at the Victorian Heritage twice now, both only for a single night. Each visit was absolutely wonderful! Denis and his staff are friendly and accommodating and make you feel at home. The rooms are wonderfully decorated with antique furniture and art, which is such a nice change from typical sterile hotel rooms. A simple... More

Stayed here for 3 days in late september when Montreal was having a heatwave so the quiet and efficient air con in the aparment was much appreciated. Our apt. was on the first floor and was very spacious. 2 beds both double, settees, 2 bathrooms, kitchen double glazing and good quality bed linen. The bb is in the latin quarter... More

Such a pleasure to stay here. The B&B was very comfortable and charmingly decorated. We enjoyed our gas fireplace on chilly evenings and having the kitchenette available for snacks and meals. We enjoyed reading the transcribed diary of Louise Amelia Monk, a 19th century resident of the house, over our lingering breakfasts. Most mornings, we chose to eat at the... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
