Exceptional! This B&B did not disappoint, the spectacular architecture and furnishings are equal to that of a museum. The owner, Denis is most hospitable with stories and tales of history. I stayed in the loft suite, loads of space, quiet, and very comfortable. The breakfasts were outstanding, healthy, tasty and offered a variety of options each morning. The location provides... More

My husband and I were in town for the F1 race in June and were thrilled to meet Denis and stay at his historic inn. Besides being perfectly located to a metro and great restaurants and pubs, we were also able to walk pretty much everywhere from this central location at all hours of the day!! Our room was perfect,... More

I was in "Amelia's Room" which was stunningly decorated, had a lovely bed with high-quality linens and a clawfoot bathtub. The windows look out onto Ontario, where a couple of bars stay busy well into the night. However, the windows are so well sealed I would never know it from the quiet room. Denis and Michel welcomed me and gave... More

This B&B is truly worth it's 5 star rating! I booked the Dormer room for three nights and found it spacious and very comfortable. Denis and the staff really made me feel at home and the breakfast was outstanding. Every day, we were presented with an array of pastries, an egg dish, fruit, and a freshly squeezed juice. Delicious! The... More

Denis and Michel were great hosts and went out of their way to make us feel wanted. The B&B is in a very well-appointed historic home only one long block from the heart of the Latin Quarter and all its restaurants. You won't have to eat lunch because the breakfast provided at the Victorian is enormous and tasty. Old Montreal... More

I especially enjoyed breakfast. There was always delicious food and a choice of fresh breads and fruit. You have a choice at breakfast, you can join the group at the big table, or sit at a small table for a quiet conversation. The decor was fascinating. Lots of very old and beautiful items tastefully arranged. Everything has a story. I... More

Beautiful lodging and lovely breakfasts. We stayed in the Garden Retreat suite, which was both stunning and very comfortable. Beyond the inn, the neighborhood is great with restaurants and bars galore. Two blocks to the Metro, which with the bus system can take you anywhere.

The name says it all - it is very historic and very Victorian. The breakfast is tasty, with an assortment of breads and croissants, homemade jams, eggs, bagels, and coffee. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, furnished with large wooden Victorian bed frames, and other authentically antique furniture. The location can't be beat either!

Rue St. Denis, during festival season, can be a very exuberant place. Victorian Heritage stands as a quiet oasis in the midst of it. We couldn't believe how quiet the elegant rooms were. The outdoor terrace seemed a world away from the excitement outside. It's the best of both worlds. All of the Victorian rooms are grand and opulent. But... More

Four couples (our traveling group) spent two nights here after departing a cruise ship in Montreal. The building(s) are beautifully decorated and maintained in Victorian style, the proprietors take extreme pride in the operation, the breakfasts are wonderful and the rooms are comfortable. Two couples stayed in the main building rooms and the other two in the annex, one in... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
