Stayed for three nights. Very clean and well maintained. We had a suite which I recommend if you're staying for a few days and there is more than one person. Very roomy with a private bathroom, comfortable sofa, and seating area for eating. JC and Scott are friendly and knowledgeable. We didn't get to meet Richard unfortunately as he wasn't... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for Valentine's day and could not have been happier with the experience. The staff was super friendly and relaxed. Knowledgeable also. The parking was right out front and free. The metro station was literally a 3 minutes and 0 seconds walk from the front door of the B&B. This was WITH walking tons of... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Le Cartier for 4 days in January. It may not have been the best time to be in Canada what with the temperature dropping below zero in the afternoon and ice all over the streets, but we found Le Cartier to be exceptional. It was VERY comfortable, with almost a private feel. I did... More

We rented the apartment which can easily accomodate 6 people. SUPER CLEAN and very affordable. 5 minute drive from old Montreal. Robert greeted us and was very helpful with everything we needed. We met Richard during checkout and even though he was grumpy because of his "Latin herritage" and lack of sleep, we worked through our misunderstanding. Richard was very... More

Le Cartier was a great p[lace to stay in Montreal and we were made to feel very welcome. Richard and his neighbour who met us on arrival went out of their way to welcome us and give us advice on what to see in Montreal. Really good value, very comfortable and convenient for the Old Quarter of the city.

I surprised my teenage daughter with a trip to Montreal for her birthday in April. What a fantastic find Le Cartier turned out to be! After researching the city I decided on a B&B in order to give her a more authentic experience. The reservation process over the phone was smooth and followed up with an email confirmation. Scott greeted... More

Recently stayed at this b&b. It has an excellent location; two minute walk to Papineau metro station. Clean, spacious room with ensuite bathroom. Breakfast simple but adequate. I want to take a chance to thank Richard, JC and Scott for being of great help to me, their support and advice will always be appreciated! Le Cartier was certainly my first... More

The bottom line of this review is I am totally satisfied with my three night stay at Le Cartier. The location was perfect, close to all of Montreal's sights, one block from the Metro (subway), reasonably price (a real value) and a clean very comfortable room with a terrific patio garden. Our host, Richard, is wealth of useful and accurate... More

My partner and I stayed here with another couple for a long weekend in the 2-bedroom apartment. There are few pictures of the apartment on Le Cartier's website so we weren't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The apartment was very comfortable and beautifully decorated with a small kitchenette (fridge, microwave and toaster oven). Breakfast breads (muffins, croissant,... Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighborhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
