It actually looked pretty nice from the outside, centrally located in the old Montreal... It took us almost 30 minutes to do a check in...unacceptable!!! and we were the only one there.... The personnel was rude, they have no idea on how to deal with customers, unbelievable! The price was cheap, but when we got into the room....that was the... More

Great value for the money. Good location at edge of Old Montreal, with city parking garage two blocks away. I was not able to park in the morning in the garage, but did get in after 3 p.m. Friendly staff, clean, secure. Note other review comments on wifi. My room, while clean, neat and small, did slant 3 to 4... More

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff is friendly & helpful. The room was small, but I just slept & bathed there. It was clean & nice. It has a great location. Very secure. Wifi is only available in the lobby, & I went down in the evening when I needed to use it. I got a great deal on... More

This charming little hotel is like staying with family. The staff and owners are very welcoming and helpful. You will be in the middle of the old port, and a walking distance from downtown Montreal. The place is clean and the homemade food was delicious!! Make sure you try their shishkabob and grilled chicken! This was definitely a great deal... More

I recently stayed in another budget hotel in Montreal (not this hotel ) and I wondered what I was going to experience – my last experience was not great! By Comparison this hotel is a very pleasant surprise The hotel is clean, and very clean, new bathrooms (or relatively) has a restaurant on site, the staff are friendly and the... More

This charming hotel is clean, comfortable and located in an amazing location of the Old Port. It is steps away from an amazing view of the fireworks, and within walking distance of just about anywhere you want to visit in Montreal. I have returned to this hotel on a few occasions. It feels like home. The staff is friendly and... More

I really enjoyed my stay here, it was a short walk away from the train station and St Catherines which is the hub of Montreal. The food served is Halal!!! And is really excellent, I ate their shish kebab every single day of my stay and it was made in such an exquisite manner. I honestly really enjoyed the food... More

The rooms are tiny and dirty. The TV did not work. I don't think I have slept in a such a bad place. The restaurant is unattractive and smelly, so is the lobby. The walls between the rooms are so tiny that you will hear everything next door. Yes, it is a 2-star hotel, but cleanliness is expected even in... More

This is a great place to stay if you want somewhere very reasonably priced in a very convenient location. Don't expect anything more than a basic room in an old building. The room was warm and the shower worked well. The management were friendly and welcoming. We did not spend much time in the hotel as we took a trip... More

I opened up this page to write a good review about this hotel. After seeing Management responses to the negative reviews, I'm turned off. Afterall, Trip Advisor is about travellers sharing their personal experiences and opinions in a non-biased setting. That being said, I'll move on with my actual review (and hope that Management does not respond as I write... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
