We stayed at the Roberval to be close to venues in the area. It was perfect for location and excellent for value with clean quiet rooms and helpful staff. Desk staff was very helpful with directions and recommendations. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a safe place within walking distance to many sites.

Pulled up at night after a long flight and was a bit worried - there was no need. Fantastic value with clean big rooms - not luxury but comfy beds, microwave, coffee maker and a fridge plus a big TV. The staff are really helpful and it's a 10 min walk from the old town. Breakfast is ok - pastries,... More

It is clean and neat, most importantly, The location is so convenient to all the places you want to visit. It is walk distance from China Town, Old Montreal ( the Notre Dame, the famous church is right there), and the St, Lawrence River, 10 minutes walk to subway.

It was a great place to stay. The front desk attendant Sebastian was very kind and helped me and my friends out when we stayed there March 2014. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! It is also in a great location.

Arrived at 1:00am and had to buzz the door to get in. Was let in fast and given apartment. EXTREMELY clean, large and warm everything we need as well. FREE breakfast, croissants, cereal yogurt, toast, coffee and cream cheese. We accidentally went at 5 min to 10 am and staff were still polite. Staff completely cleaned apartment and it was... More

Yes this is a budget hotel but its in a great location. Near the metro station and centrally located for a very fair price. However.... how hard is it in 2015 to provide a good Wi Fi signal? I just do NOT get it! It is good for 5 minutes then it drops. Then it's back then it drops. It... More

I was in Montreal for a conference and Le Roberval was perfect for my visit. With a small kitchenette and within walking distance of many stores, I was able to save some $. The room was clean and comfortable and had an adjustable thermostat. The Wifi was a bit slow but not too bad, certainly ok for email and checking... More

Stayed with a few friends for an extended weekend in Montreal. The staff was nice enough, with some great English. Our room's kitchenette was very useful, and I can't see myself going to a hotel without one now. The free breakfast was very filling and the attendant was very polite and made for a great way to open up our... More

Great location, good service, clean & comfortable. Could be noisy because of traffic in the lower levels but on the 6th floor this was not a problem. Good choice of fresh pastries, toast and cereal for breakfast available 'till 10 AM (but no hot dishes which was fine with me). Service en français excellent.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
