The hotel looked worn inside and out. It wasn't the cleanest hotel I have seen but definitely not the worst. Wonderful phone manner. Very helpful regarding reservation and parking (ONLY on the phone. They were not very helpful in person). They were so nice. I got a false impression on how nice the hotel would be. I am not gonna... More

Centrally located, a few blocks from the subway. But parking is an extra ten dollars a day (it is in a secure underground location, though). Essentially no Internet service -- the front desk said that happens when a lot of people are staying at the hotel (so, why don't they upgrade?). Continental breakfast, again nothing special. They do have an... More

Pros: Room with fully equipped kitchen. Good location, near Old Town and St Catherine street. Nice staff (front desk, housekeeping team and kitchen ladies). Breakfast was as expected. Cons: Terrible Wifi connection, intermittent and useless at the end of the day. Room overcrowded, too many furniture in a reduced space and no wardrobe inside the room. AC pointed directly to... Front desk was helpful. Hotel layout is a bit of a maze, but that is to be expected with the older, boutique-type hotels. Breakfast was had a decent variety of food. Nothing fancy, but definitely plenty of food to choose from. Room was clean and quiet (2 biggies for us). We stayed in the 2 room suite (slept 6). The... More

Hardwood floors and mini kitchen. Could use more electrical wall outlets or a power strip mounted somewhere for our devices. Room service usually not until 3-4pm if not checking out. They seem to be short room service staff, who are over-worked.

The location is just on the corner of Berri and Rene Levesque which is easy walking distance from UQAM and the bars & restaurants of St. Denis and St Catherine without being too close to the noise of late night revelries. The rooms were well kept and clean with some cooking facilities so you could potentially stay here on a... More

You can't ask for a better location for the price in Montreal. The Berri-UQAM Metro station is a short walk at the end of the block. However, the hotel is within an easy walk of Old Port, Musee d'Art pedestrian mall, and Chinatown. It's also around the corner from the Ste. Catherine Street pedestrian street. Parked the car when we... More

As a person who hates driving, I often try to find places that are close to subway line and cheap eats. Le Roberval fulfills all of that. I booked in advance and got an amazing deal on the room rate during Festival of Jazz and it even came with a free continental breakfast. We filled up on toast, croissants, yogurt,... More

First trip to Montreal and hopefully will come back again and stay at the Le Roberval. Very clean room with extra sofa bed. The main check in has Wi-Fi with a computer downstairs. Our Wi-Fi in our room was a bit on the slow side which in this day and age is a bummer. The bathroom was super clean and... More

Booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 2 nights. Really impressed. The quality and standard of the room was far better than we had expected. Apartment was a good size and well appointed. Could not fault. The rate includes a generous continental breakfast and the hotel has a laundromat in the basement. This was a great base and easy to access... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
