The owner is very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast is nice—especially the pastries. Everything was inspected and clean (e.g. under the bed sheets). There are a few convenient spots nearby to shop for things like toothpaste and shampoo (which you will need). It was a good quiet stay and perfect for anyone looking to rest their head here for... This is a converted old post office, which explains some quirky and charming features. Rooms are small. European-small, almost Parisian-small, meaning barely enough space to maneuver around beds, and bathroom has compact sink. However, it is perfectly clean and functional. The place is no frills, but it works perfectly in it's price category. Breakfast is basic (bagels, croissants, bread, cereals,... More

At under $50, this place really cannot be beat. While other reviews have negative feedback on the neighborhood and the quality of the rooms, our family found the hotel perfect for our needs. If you are expecting the Ritz, you are out of luck; but if you want a functional and even moderately homey experience, this hotel could be for... More

Great atmosphere around the hotel. Staff were very helpful and and nice. Not an extravagant breakfast, but sufficient. If you get a room with a water view, can get a bit of wind noise at night. Nice balcony looking towards the water. Hospitality of the staff makes you overlook everything else. Would definitely stay again.

Free wifi, great service, not in the best part of the town, away from touristy areas except for bio-dome. Breakfast available, lovely staff, parking available. Not very clean but you get what you pay for. The building and amenities are old, no bells and whistles as it is an auberge.

Due to personal reasons I had to cancel my reservation at this hotel. I was told there was a cancelation fee which I was willing to pay. However, they ended up charging me the amount agreed in US dollars instead of Canadian dollars as originally stated in the receipt of my reservation. I called the hotel to negotiate the fees... We stayed here for the weekend, there was free parking. Hotel was in a run down part of town, which was a lot more colorful at night. We didn't map our way to the subway before we left for the day and walked through a not so nice area late at night. Take a cab or the bus for sure.... More

We stayed for four nights. The facade of the building is lovely and it is clean inside. The neighbourhood isn't the nicest and there is an incredibly smelly industrial building down the street. It's about a 15 min walk from Prefontaine metro station. The staff are lovely and very helpful. We had some problems with our shower - either no... More

The hotel is not bad for price. The staff is very nice and helpful. I called a few days before to get directions to get there from airport. They were exact direction, so I would advise you to do this. As this save you money. Check in was quick and easy. Which was a great for me, because I was... More

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighborhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
