A la carte is the kind of bed and breakfast that dreams are made up. Starting with the hosts: Daniel, Petra, and Monsieur Petit. We were charmed by all three. What great company, bon vivants, raconteurs, and so welcoming to me and my daughter. Situated on a quiet, residential street in the Rosemont neighborhood, staying here one could easily blend... Our experience was very gratifying. The more memorable aspects of our stay were: 1) Daniel, our host, was extremely helpful with directions and travel tips for getting around Montreal. Also, he was quite solicitous regards how we were enjoying our stay. He made himself very available for questions, and for having his delicious breakfasts prepared at convenient times. 2) Our... We needed a place to stay in the area and this was recommended by a friend. It exceeded our expectations as we were pampered by our host in so many ways. Breakfast was varied, made to order, plentiful and delicious and I was so happy to have a deluxe espresso machine like I am used to at home. This was... More

I stayed for four days with my family at A La Carte in the apartment. Daniel and Monsieur Petit gave us a friendly welcome. Daniel is a wonderful host who goes above and beyond to make his guests feel comfortable and welcome. He was so helpful in guiding us toward the must-see attractions and local restaurants. We enjoyed playing with... More

Attending a family event we had the apartment and one of the main level rooms. We did not use the kitchen other than to make coffee however we did observe that it was very well stocked with appliances, dishes, etc. Would be a great place to stay for a while. Petra gives a very thorough orientation, Daniel regaled us with... More

I stayed with my family at A La Carte in the apartment, so we didn't take advantage of the breakfast that is served in the lower rooms. But Petra and Daniel were so helpful in guiding us toward the must-see attractions and local restaurants, and we found that staying in the more residential part of Montreal really gave us a... More

I have stayed at "A la Carte" 3 times since 2007. All three times in the apartment. Petra & Daniel are wonderful hosts that go above and beyond to make their guests feel comfortable and welcome. I only had breakfast with them on one occasion but it was wonderful! The apartment is perfect, we were able to cook most of... More

Petra and Daniel are the best hosts ever and we will always stay here when visiting Montreal! The rooms are charming and the breakfast delicious. This B&B is in an excellent quiet location with restaurants nearby.

Second time back. Won't be the last! Love the apartment. Was in Montreal for New Years 2015. Great location, main street has many bakerys and great places to eat. Will be back for a third time defiantly!

This place is amazing: The warm welcome, the comfortable amd cozy room, the delicious breakfast, but mostly the kindness and generosity of Petra and Daniel made my short stay there a very pleasant experience. A home away from home. Merci!

Staying in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie

Neighborhood Profile
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.
