So this review is taking place from the room that was not supposed to be ours to begin with but was deceitfully given to us by the hotel. We should have seen the signs when we arrived well past check in time and only one of our group's two rooms was ready and I emphasize "well past" check in time.... More

Previous reviews paint a fairly accurate picture: older building in need of some work with some cramped rooms and heating/cooling issues. Nevertheless had a perfectly fine stay and enjoyed above average service. Common areas, elevators, etc. appear especially worn, while rooms are well-decorated and comfortable enough (e.g. soaker tub in regular queen room). Attentive service from all staff (happy to... This is a wonderful hotel with lovely, large rooms that include a wall of windows overlooking the city. The staff is really pleasant with excellent follow through on requests. I was on the eleventh floor and the room was very quiet and peaceful. It was recently refurbished, so everything was fresh, with nice subtle gray and white colors. Loved it.

Two night stay at this hotel was enjoyable with very freindly and helpful staff and our room was large comfortable and clean. Only downside was as mentioned by others the entrance and lifts need upgrading and don't have a room near the lift as noise! But don't please let that stop you booking a stay.

The hotel itself is a little older but was clean. My room was large, well appointed and clean. The king bed is comfy. Front desk and service was good. The one major problem i had with the place was the in-room noise from the air conditioning units, from the unit in my room and also from the units in other... More

Very friendly staff, was nice to speak French. Even though the hotel was completely booked, I never felt the big crowds. The rooms are extremely clean and well appointed. Its not my first time and they had notes on my last stay on what I liked to have in my room upon arrival. Very nice gesture. Only one very small... More

This was my first time staying at this hotel and I found that the reeboks were very nice. Nicely decorated new carpet and clean. The only suggestions I would make to the Hotel is that the front doors to the hotel are dated and look a little shabby. I would say the same for the elevators. Once you get past... More

We stayed at Le Meridien Versailles for 2 nights and were really satisfied ! The room was nice and clean, the staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room was next to the elevator and it was not noisy as others has complained. Actually you could hear the elevator noise when you were in the washroom, but otherwise it was... More

I have stayed at the Meridien many times (including the week of my wedding) and never had a bad experience until last weekend. Upon entering our Suite my wife noticed that there were food crumbs all over the sofa and floor. Given we have a 10 month old we immediately called down to have someone come vacuum - which was... Having slept in hundreds of hotels, when possible, I try seek out charming boutique hotels with charisma over large & impersonal corporate hotels. Alas, this "luxury" hotel was a complete disappointment that failed on multiple levels. On the plus side… +Nice curb appeal. The bed is fine (soft) and location is wonderful for the arts. Front desk staff are efficient... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
