Don't think that this brand gets enough recognition for being a boutique, design oriented brand. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Had great clean room, clean bathroom (though, I would remove the jacuzzi. Who uses those in a hotel?) etc. Two things need improvement though. One is the wifi. It was extremely spotty in corners of the room which didn't allow... More

We had slight difficulties getting to the hotel due to construction and all the one-way streets, but it was worth. Courteous competent staff. Simple, but lovely room. Great breakfast. We were close to the Museum of Fine Arts.So much was within walking distance. I only wish that we could have stayed longer. The only negative is parking which is an... More

My wife and I are not typical of the type that would stay at a boutique hotel ( mid 60's age wise and Glen Miller fans ). Location good for exploring Montreal. Our room was on the tenth floor. Very comfortable, we slept very well. The youngish staff dealt with every enquiry with care and in-depth knowledge. The laid back... More

Not in line with brand standard. Lobby bathroom incredibly dirty, hotel did not have reservation, room is good but monotone design and overlooking some dodgy graffitied back street. Did not enjoy and would not return. Three quarter of the Meridien logo light bulbs were burnt othe huge sign hanging on the hotel.....enough said about the care put into details. Staff... More

Good location, efficient service and nice breakfast. Internet a little slow but manageable for emails. Stayed only 2 nights on my first business trip to Canada. Would definitely come back there the next time.

We were upgraded to the penthouse which was an amazingly large room. We had a nice view of Mont Royal and the General Hospital, otherwise the skyline from this spot was underwelming. We had a friend staying in another room and her's was refurbished and updated modern. It was clear our room had not been udpated; having said this it... More

I thought we had selected a good hotel but were disappointed! As SPG Gold we welcomed the upgrade to a Junior Suite but the airconditioning wasn't functional. I called the Front Desk to complain about the aiconditioning, I was told that some one will come shortly but no one showed up till we left the next morning. It may have... More

After refusing to stay at the atrocious A2K hotel, I was fortunate to find a vacancy at this beautiful hotel on Sherbrooke near the Musee Des Beaux Arts. From the personable staff at check in, to the gorgeous amenities in the room, everything about this hotel was first rate and reasonably priced. I will make this my new home in... More

Recently refurbished hotel, looks great in pictures but shows its age in person. Air conditioning in our room wasn't working in Summer. Lifts feel ancient. Staff are friendly and helpful and happy to speak English. There's no car park, and was recommended to park about 10 minutes away which wasn't that happy about as was implied there was parking, not... More

Right close to shopping and restaurants and where you want to be. We had 2 rooms that were decent size and very clean and modern. The breakfast at the restaurant attached to the hotel was great. We could walk from here to everywhere and it was safe at night. The staff was helpful and nice

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
