This is a basic no frills hostel. The place is clean and quite. This is certainly not a party hostel, but rather a nice place to relax and base yourself out of to see the city. The staff was super friendly and gave great recommendations on where to go and what to do.

We stayed there for 1 night only. The front office is very cool, friendly and helpful. We were in a room of 4 which was quite clean. The good thing is that the bathroom is in the room so you don't have to take all your stuff with you for having a shower. The subway is about 5 mns walk... More

This hostel was not bad at all. It was quieter and seemed more empty than other hostels I've been to but that's great if you're the type who wants to actually relax after a whole day of touring the city and have some quiet time to yourself. I've been to more party-type hostels as well and there's good and bad... More

This hostel is quite dirty and I had a couple of problems there but generally it was ok. First, the staff was not very friendly and was never there when I had questions to ask at the front desk. The rooms are quite ok even though the beds are not comfortable at all. You have a bathroom for each room... More

I love hostels. I've stayed at many. I've never had a bad experience like I had here. I had a confirmation email from the hostel for two rooms, but they refused to give me the second one. The hostel itself is nestled amongst vacant parking lots (on weekends). It seemed to have very few occupants, but even so, the kitchen... More

Management response:

Dear guest, I love hostel too… and so does my team. For that reason, I’d like to give you my most sincere apologies for the horrible experience you seem to have had while staying with us. From the average scoring we get on the different booking engines, we are normally pretty good at meeting our guest needs… But it is... More

This hostel has a simple room with bathroom. It's a little small and don't have breakfast. You can buy food and put in their refrigerator. It's close to metro and close to the Crescent Street. I expected a little more from this HI.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
