Breakfast is a bit of a joke. But that's my only complaint. All carbs (bread bagels muffins) and cold hard boiled eggs were the only protein at all. There was yogurt and fresh pieces of fruit and coffee and juice. You will find yourself quite hungry after eating all those carbs in a couple of hours.

With family in Toronto, Ottawa, Maine and Georgia, 21 family members (ages 83 to 8 months) gathered in Montreal to celebrate our matriarch's birthday. Le Square Phillips went out of their way to set up our rooms (7 in all) on the same wing of the hotel. The rooms (2 and 1 bedroom suites) were huge, clean, sun-filled and comfortably... More

We stayed at Le Square Phillips Hotel for two nights in January and would highly recommend this hotel to other travellers. Friendly and professional service from beginning to end. Whether it was giving us directions, to holding our baggage while we shopped a little after we checked out. Rooms were spotless. Kitchen was fully equipped with dishes, dishwasher, cooking utensils,... More

Stayed here over Christmas (2 Adults and 3 kids aged 5, 7, 9). We stayed in one of the family suites which was perfect for our family. The room comprised a separate bedroom with a king sized bedroom, another room with no door which was adjacent to the lounge and came with a queen bed. The lounge also had a... More

My family stayed two nights at Le Square Phillips during a vacation to Montreal last summer. The hotel is perfect. The rooms are huge with plenty of space for our family of 6. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is great...right downtown and within walking distance of restaurants and Old Montreal. And the value is fantastic. If... More

I stayed here with my husband for 2 nights. The location was as central as you can get downtown. The room was one of cleanest I have ever stayed in. The included breakfast was perfect! I highly recommend this hotel and I would be happy to stay here again.

The hotel was clean, the rooms spacious - we loved the full-sized kitchen and used it every day! The location was good because we could walk to most sites and the grocery store. The hotel staff was on a regular schedule so we started to recognize faces over the 8 days we were there. There was a laundry on the... More

This hotel is perfect. Huge room (junior suite) with a king bed and a living room with a sofa bed. Perfect for families. So comfortable that you feel at home. The kitchen has all amenities you need to cook, and the good thing is that you can go to the breakfast room (free breakfast) and bring everything to the room.... More

Very large room, with full kitchen that is fully supplied. The hotel is centrally located in downtown Montreal, with a large selection of shopping and restaurants within a ten minute walk. Pool and excercise area at the top floor, with a nice (but cold) view of the city. The conceirge service was top notch, recommending amazing restaurants and tourist sites... More

The room is very spacious and comfortable. It includes a small kitchen and table, with accessories enough to cook simple meals. The breakfast is repetitive, but efficient. The indoor pool and gym, together with the business center, complete the service offer of this wonderful hotel.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
