Went with family and friends. Great hotel centrally located, close to mall and walking distance to all tourist locations. Hotel provided Friendly and always very helpful. The Front desk helped us every day with daily tours and dinning suggestions, extremely helpful and kind. The rooms are very roomy and very clean. They are like little apartments. My room had a... I selected this hotel because among the expensive hotel accommodations in Montreal, it provided valet parking at a somewhat reasonable rate. When you enter the hotel it looks rather non-descript but the room (a mini-suite actually) was spotless, with a large living space, a separate bedroom and a full kitchen. Very quiet and in a great location for shopping and... More

Arrived after a 5 hour train trip from Toronto and checked in no fuss. The room was spotlessly clean and huge with fully equipped kitchen so no issues. The hotel is approx. a 10min walk to IGA supermarket and the same to Old Montreal and all the normal tourist sites. There is plenty of shops and restaurants to keep all... More

Just returned from the long weekend in Montreal. Booked Le Square Phillip a few months earlier so got a great rate. The rooms are spacious with full kitchen, nice tv, quiet rooms and super clean! (Actually commented how quiet it was for a full hotel).Kudos to the housekeeping staff! Breakfast was continental, cereals, muffins, fruit, bagels... Included in our stay.... More

We enjoyed our stay after finding this hotel. The construction work out front makes it difficult to find. Once found, the location in the city is great. Near shopping, metro and walking distance to old montreal and china town. We had a two bed jr. suite it had two closets and a full kitchen. We went to the market in... More

We travelled to Montreal for a family wedding on the weekend of May 15 - 18. We spent three nights at Le Square Phillips with our three children ages 8, 6, and 4. We stayed in suite 709, which is a family suite. It was very large with lots of room for all of us. We enjoyed the view, and... More

This hotel was beautiful and had the rooms were huge. It's conveniently located in Phillips Square, close to metros and a 10 minute walk from old Montreal. The free breakfast is another positive for the hotel, they serve typical breakfast items like toast, cereals, coffee etc. The staff was delightful; especially Maria who works in the breakfast room.

This was our second stay at Le Square Phillips and once again we were very happy with our choice. The hotel is located in the heart of Montreal. About 5 minutes to the shops, 15 minutes to the Convention Centre and Old Montreal. The rooms are clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable. Our well equipped kitchenette was a blessing. After an... Where do I begin to share how great my stay at the Phillips Square was. Location: right downtown, plenty of eateries to enjoy, and the 747 bus (ten dollars) took me right from the airport to the hotel The Hotel: Very nicely appointed simple yet elegant. Excellent rooms and large! I want the Mirloin bathtub that was in the bathroom!... More

We headed to Montreal for a 3 night getaway with my parents and two children. We reserved a family suite. It was very spacious - enough room to spread out and for the kids to play. The kitchen was large and well stocked for our purposes. Just a note that the second bedroom was really an alcove room - no... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
