We booked this hotel as a package deal through the Montreal Int. Jazz Festival. Location: excellent! Rooms: huge and comfortable! Check-in/out: fast, easy! Breakfast: included, but not so special and the breakfast room is very crowded. Overall a great place to stay in Montreal: walking distance to everywhere.

After staying in a cramped two bedroom suite in Niagra Falls, we welcomed the huge two bedroom suite in Montreal. It had a large kitchen with dining area, two spacious bedrooms and a living area with sleeper sofa. They happily brought us a rollaway bed as well. The only slight negative was there were only one and a half baths.... More

I recently planned a trip to Montreal to propose to my girlfriend and chose to stay at Le Square Phillips Hotel & Suites after reading all the great reviews on Tripadvisor. The reviews were right. It's a fantastic hotel in a great location. Live music, restaurants, Old Montreal, shopping and bixi bikes all within a few blocks. Beyond that, the... More

My family (4 kids, 2 adults) stayed at Le Square Phillips for the semi-finals of the Women's World Cup. The suite was the perfect size. It consisted of 2 bedrooms 9onw with a king bed and the other bedroom had a queen size bed. In addition, the living room had a pull-out full size bed. The dining area included a... More

Suite hotel in the middle of downtown Montreal. Location couldn't be better - steps to Subway, McGill, Montreal Jazz festival, Shopping etc...Very friendly staff. Suites are large and perfect for families, including a well-equipped kitchen. Coin laundry on site as well. Pool is small but has a beautiful rooftop view. Gym is well-equipped for a hotel this size. Breakfast included... More

We have been staying at this hotel for 4 years now - since our eldest son started at McGill. The family suites are excellent value. The big suite has a large bedroom with king size bed. Full kitchen if you want to cook/eat in with another queen size bed sectioned off and pull out bed. When we visit our 22 year... More

We stayed overnight in Montreal before our flight to Paris recently. The room was huge, with kitchen, a dining set, two double beds, free wi-fi and breakfast. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. It was an extremely enjoyable experience and I highly recommend this hotel.

The location is good near the tourist neighborhood in downtown montreal and the shopping centers. Nice room with kitchen. Breakfast is superior with lots of choices. The staffs are friendly. The laundry area is in the rooftop near the gym and pool so its nice to lounge in the pool area while waiting for my laundry to be done.

This was a great hotel. Location was ideal, among many shops and restaurants. Within walking distance of Old Montreal, the Port , Science Center, Mc Gill University, and subway stations. Extremely close to St Catherine's and a couple of blocks from the games Jazz festival. The front desk ( Stephanie, in particular ) and the concierge were extremely knowledgeable and... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
