Located in the beautiful 19th century waterfront area of the city ("Vieux Montreal") the Place d'Armes is a successful make-over of several old commercial buildings dating from the late nineteenth, early twentieth century. It is much frequented for office parties and business meetings, and its ground floor is well designed for the purpose. The rooms/suites are capacious, bathrooms are very... More

Attended a conference in Montreal and this was one of the four recommended hotels. It definitely was the best of them all. Had a great double room, sharing with a colleague in the 2nd building, and loved the complimentary wine and cheese, wireless internet and continental breakfast in the morning. The staff were exceptionally helpful and gracious. One night after... More

You can't get any better location, service, breakfast, or atmosphere than this hotel. We can't wait to go back! The bed was so comfy I actually ordered their sheets (never done that before!), the rooms preserved their historic past with hardwood floors and enormous window seats--but the furnishings were simple modern chic. Huge bathroom! We felt very luxurious, but the... More

We booked this hotel after reading all the glowing reviews on this boutique hotel from fellow Tripadvisors. From the moment we walked in until the last moment we stepped out of the hotel the stay here was absolutely enjoyable. The hotel is in Old Montreal, less than a minute walk to Notre Dame basilica. Lots of good restaurants around and... More

We would highly recommend the Place d'Armes hotel. It has a charming, hip character. The rooms are interesting and well appointed. The staff and the breakfast is fabulous. The rooftop bar is a very happening spot on the weekends and a very convenient place to socialize. The restaurant for dinner is first rate. The only downside is that because the... More

If you are looking for a taste of decadence in your mundane life, I would recommend staying at least a couple nights here. First of all, it is in the heart of Old Montreal, which is a tourist's paradise; surrounded by culture and gourmet restaurants, shopping, the beautiful boardwalk along the St. Lawrence... It is literally next to the famed... More

I love boutique hotels and this is one of the best. Okay, you pay a little extra (actually, a lot extra in some cases), but it's worth it. Hotel Place d'Armes is in the middle of Old Montreal, just a few blocks from the restaurant-laden Rue St. Paul and one block from the Basilica Notre Dame. Downtown Montreal, including Chinatown,... My husband and I stayed at this wonderful boutique hotel this past weekend. I highly recommend it! We arrived early at the hotel and our room was ready for us, we didn't have to wait for the "official" check-in time. Once inside, our hotel room looked and felt like we were staying in a fancy decorated mini- apartment instead of... More

My wife and I stayed here for the first time because of mostly positive comments on Tripadvisor and its close proximity to Old Montreal. Only minor problem was initially finding the hotel because a big yellow school bus was parked in the limited street space fronting the nondescript hotel entrance. We had a spacious deluxe king suite on the second... More

Before we even arrived the service was wonderful. Emailed the concierge a few days prior to arriving, who assisted us with a reservation at a very busy restaurant ( Au Pied de Cochon, which was so good!). Arrived at about 11:00 am and they had a room ready for us. It was so nice to be able to put our... More

Staying in Quartier International

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier International
Designed to connect and beautify unused space, today the Quartier International is like a transversal piece of modern art. The distinctive design flair is most apparent at its focal point, the Palais des Congres, a convention center and retail space with a multi-colored glass exterior and an equally bold interior motif. Outdoors too, the Quartier is friendly towards public art exhibits along its stylish, plotted city squares, with extra-wide sidewalks meant to encourage long strolls and shaded benches available for absorbing the atmosphere. Fresh air and promenades characterize the area, from the foliage of Victoria Square to the fountain of Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, while the restaurants along Rue Saint-Antonie Ouest and Metro stops modeled in the Parisian style give off European glamour.
