We did not feel welcome in this hotel where service was minimal. Breakfast was included, but extremely limited (do not dare asking for more!). Location is great, though, and close to the "Vieux-Montréal" and not to fare from Mont-Royal. Wifi was very slow.

- Very unpleasant and unhelpful clerks. For any information, the reply would be "do it yourself, you've got internet in your room". - more than basic breakfast : transparent coffee and supermarket croissants or muffins. Everything in a underground small room with no window. - crazy A/C system blowing onto you 20 knots cold wind whatever is the temperature outside.... More

Having stayed here in 2005, I had no hesitation booking again hen I wen to the Grand Prix again this year. The location amid the restaurants and bars or Rue St Denis within a five minute walk to the Metro hub of Berri Uqam is perfect for getting around the City. The amenities are basic but all you need, En... More

I stayed at this hotel in May 2015. I chose this hotel due to the price and location. Hotel is located on Rue St Denis - a short walk from Rue ST Catherine where the shops and eateries are located. There are also decent eateries and conveniences near the hotel as well. The hotel is located very close to the... More

Just stayed here 4 nights. Hreat location on St Denis/Ontario. Parking in rear of hotel in library $12/24hrs. The hotel is 2 min walk to Berri motel station. It has good wifi, its clean, AC works well, and the room has a fridge. Rooms in back are quite, not sure about in front. Needs an in room coffee maker. Well... More

We have stayed in this hotel before and decided to do so again. The reason is that it's very reasonably priced, very safe and in an excellent location. The hotel had been smartened up since our last visit. The rooms are clean and have everything you need - but it's not luxurious. There is no lift. The breakfast is free... More

We visited Montreal for the first time last month and as far as location are concerned you can't beat Rue St. Denis. It is in the heart. Of course there was some homeless and some beggars, which is the nature of the heart. We arrived at the hotel and were greeted in English by the clerk and promptly checked in.... More

I booked this for a one bed bedroom through hot-wire for 41 US a night and with all taxes it came to 62 Canadian. When my friend and I got there they couldn't find our reservations and the man at the front was not happy with us even though we were nothing but nice. He then called someone else who... More

First time I have paid for a room and not stayed , the hotel advertisement is very misleading firstly it's in a seedy area with a girlie bar next door , homeless people begging and abusive in the street ,the room is so small for two people we couldn't open our bags , the towels in the tiny bathroom would... GREAT LOCATION!! In the heart of Rue St Denis. Cheap, safe, indoor parking nearby ($9 if you leave by 7am, $12 otherwise). Great value, with free wifi & simple continental b'fast included. We had our own street-side balcony (but had to climb through a narrow window to reach it :-) - an excellent vantage point for people-watching. And this is... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
