Stayed here for 2 nights while vacationing in Montreal. The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating. They had a good sense of humor and gave us advice on places to eat and see in the area. The parking spaces were very tight but safe, underground garage. The room itself was just ok, it was dated. The carpet was... More

It is no longer a holiday inn so the picture featured for this property is misleading. The location is fine and quiet enough. The hotel reminds me of the student days of cheap, plain all beige apartment with scuff marks everywhere. The suite is a good size but the furniture needs updating as it is scratched up. Bed was comfortable... More

We had a large 2 room suite in the corner of the hotel with something of a view. The second room was basically a TV room with comfortable chairs. Great for those who stay up late and don't want to disturb anyone who wants to sleep ! Had a frig, sink, and microwave. The staff was helpful with directions, and... More

We went to that hotel because it was the cheapest we could find , downtown Montreal. We were 10 mnutes walking distance of "le quartier des spectacles". Very nice hotel, the staff were polite, and knew the area. Rooms were comfortables, and a hot water tank in each rooms...wow. The breakfast was great, (hot breakfast). We highly recommand that hotel.... More

Indeed, you need to use your room key to access the elevator but this is only for security reason. Once again, thank you. Sincerely, Charlotte Lecul Front Office Supervisor More

We usually stay at the Candlewood, next door, when we visit Montreal, but it happened to be fully booked this time around. They recommended Hôtel Faubourg, so we booked a room for 9 nights. We expected a hotel with the same standards as the Candlewood, and ended up bitterly disappointed. For one thing, the room we were given was simply... More

What a surprise to see that the room turned out to be an apartment with a kitchen and a living room! Everything was great about this place except for the fact that we could hear people walking and talking in the hallway. Breakfast was surprisingly very good!

Stayed at this hotel for past weekend in Montreal for Jazz festival. Room has a kitchen and a living room. Very specious!! Hotel has a parking for extra 25$ per night, has a gym and a coffee with pastures in the mornings included . We stayed at this hotel for the Formula 1 weekend and for the first time in the city. The location is very central and close to the metro stations. This is an older hotel. It is a little worn & tired, but is super convenient to Old Montreal and the Downtown area. You definitely get what you pay for, as this hotel is pretty low frills. There is parking, a continental breakfast was offered. We had two rooms on the sixth floor. Both looked ok. They are pretty large.... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
