My husband and I spent nights of 16-17/05/15 here and despite our room having a no-smoking plaque on the wall beside the door, it reeked of stale cigarette smoke - even with the air-con on. The balcony was covered in cigarette butts and two empty food containers which had obviously been there some time! The carpeting and upholstered furniture were... More

The hotel is conveniently located a few minutes walk from Chinatown and Rue Sainte-Catherine with lots of shops and restaurants. The room has a flat screen TV but the room itself is in very poor condition with stains on the walls and towels. My room's toilet has plumbing issues, but lucky I was only staying for a night, so I... More

After reading some reviews of this property on TripAdvisor I was a bit skeptical of what we were going to be walking into. However, it was exactly what I initially thought. We were up in Montreal for a bachelor party and it served its purpose. The room wasn't the best, but we didn't pay for the best. It was quite... More

Stayed for 6 nights and 7 days, our studio room was clean, comfortable and spacious, not elegant but functional and meet all of our needs. Walking distance to Old Montreal, downtown and China Town. The staff is friendly and very helpful, Barbara at the front desk was great! Didn't care to much about the breakfast buffet, it was just the... More

Stayd in this hotel during a business trip and I can telecom I had better hotels and definitely worse ones. Staff is very friendly and helpful, rooms are very big and spacious they come with a kitchen and a small bar with chairs, desk to work on and very comfortable beds. Though I didn't had any complaints about service or... More

Stayed here with my daughters to access Irish dancing event over the course of 9 days in the nearby Palais des Congres. In terms of access to this venue it is superb but you also are in Chinatown and within a couple of minutes walk from Notre Dame and Old Montreal. There is reasonably priced Cafe called Terra verde in... More

I am a big Holiday Inn Express fan. Always clean, nice comfy rooms and good breakfasts. We cut our stay at this one from 3 days to overnight because this hotel is so outdated. I wish I would have taken a picture but both queen beds literally sagged a good 8" in the middle. Later I read reviews about bad... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. 4 people aged 28-32 for leisure. Had a suite on the 3rd floor, booked via Priceline. Hotel is dated and not well maintained. Walls in rooms are marked, floors cracked. Bed was hard as a rock and uncomfortable. Smelled were eminating for other units into ours (cigarette smoke, food odors, musty). Furniture had many stains.... More

This was as expected. Clean, fast check in and the location for travel and working here is excellent. Only stayed two nights, slept well and the continental breakfast was fine. A good base for me. Would use it again if work brings me here.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Centre-Ville for 6 nights. While the location is really convenient (right next to a bus stop for the airport express and close to Vieux Montreal) and the staff friendly and helpful, the hotel is a little bit teared down. The rooms look old, the fridge in the room is also old and noisy... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
