Stayed here in May 2011 for 5 nights to attend a conference at the Palais des congres (convention center) which is only about 2 blocks away -- very convenient. Rooms are comfortable and pretty quiet. The only drawback from my point of view was that I was explicitly told when I checked in that breakfast was included, but that turned... More

The hotel was in a wonderful location on the edge of the Old City. We walked between the Old and New all in one day and had a great time. The rooms are very large and have the 16 foot ceilings. The bathrooms have both a large Jacuzzi bathtub and a shower stall. The bedroom area has a "living room"... More

It is a great place to stay for business! The hotel is close to the Palais de Congrais, where the conference I attended took place. You have fast internet connection, convenient room with fridge, comfortable bed! The old port is nearby, which is a perfect place for morning running. The breakfast was not so diverse like in Europe but for... More

What a wonderful mini-vacation with friends, due in large part to the fantastic service and ambiance at L'Hotel. It is a must for anyone with a penchant for the 60's. The walls are filled with fantastic pieces of art from Warhol and other notables. You could spend hours wandering the hallways! The rooms are nicely proportioned and very clean. But... More

I just got back from a week-end in Montreal with friends to celebrate my 50th birthday. One of the many highlights of the week-end was the great hotel that we stayed in--L'Hotel in Old Montreal. From the moment we pulled up in our cab, we had a fantastic experience there. The staff runs out to meet you and welcome you... More

My girlfriend and I stayed for one night at this wonderful hotel in Old Montreal. It's in a perfect location to be able to access Old Montreal, and also very close to Chinatown, the Latin Quater, and downtown. It's in a very artistic area, very close to the Notre Dame Cathedral. The room was big with high ceilings, everything was... More

The staff were, across the board, the nicest and friendliest people I've encountered ever in a service establishment. They went above & beyond to make my stay excellent. The rooms were superb, the art made it feel like a gallery, the hotel was quiet, and I will most definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Montreal!!

This was by far the MOST BEAUTIFUL room I have ever seen or stayed in. I would like to precise that I travel a lot and have been to Montréal many many times and always stayed at different hotels like the Hyatt, the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, the Marriott, etc. For the purpose of my trip, I wanted a special room... The rooms were clean and spacious. The price was reasonable considering we were in the center of the "old town". One mile from the Bell Centre. Lots of restaurants and night spots. Best of all the staff especially Francois and Mylene were courteous and attentive to our needs (party of six). Would definitely make it my go to place to... More

Nicely located for historical sightseeing. Continental breakfast was lovely. Room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The art in the hotel was a real bonus. Every staff member was friendly and helpful.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
