I recently stayed at L Hotel for a week for my son's wedding in Montreal. I hosted several family and friends also as guests at the hotel. We all found the hotel an amazingly friendly and interesting place to stay. Nothing but compliments for the hotel and staff who were always friendly and helpful. We hosted a breakfast in the... Great hotel, unfortunately they managed to charge my credit card twice on checkout and have yet to refund my card for the error. Upon contact with the hotel I was advised to wait 5 - 10 day and the money would be refunded automatically. They would not make any other arrangement. 10 days expire in a few hours time and... More

Hubby n I stayed here last year. We found it charming, historical and spacious. The rooms were large and nicely decorated. Bathrooms were also a nice size! Nice location and good food all around. The history of the location and past business was also if great interest to us. Would stay here again for sure!

We chose the LHotel to take a few extra days to ourselves after business downtown. The interior of the hotel is packed with art and intensely colorful. In contrast, the sleeping room was very calming, moderately furnished and super comfortable. The high ceilings with floor to ceiling windows are a nice bonus, and made even more dramatic by sleeping on... More

For many reviewers the pop art was the WOW factor but for me it was the room. Spacious, high ceilings, clean, quiet, with a quality bathroom & super comfortable bed. Staff were efficient & friendly. Centrally located in Old Montreal. Would definitely stay there again.

I was in Montreal for work and decided to stay at a boutique hotel instead of the standard. I like Montreal and wanted a place with local charm, close to work. The artwork in the hotel lobby is great and the hotel has a European feel. The rooms also have very nice artwork but are not luxurious. Also, the hotel... More

My husband and I were really pleased with our stay at LHotel. The location is great--convenient to the Metro, plenty of good restaurants in walking distance. We loved the decor, both in our suite and throughout the hotel. Everything is really clean and our King Suite was huge with really comfortable bed and furniture. The doormen were really helpful and... More

Stayed one night with my wife. Quaint, modern and cool hotel for sure! The room was great and clean. Loved the bathroom and the deep tub. After checkout they kept our car all day for us to go sightseeing, so convenient! We will go back :-)

The room was lovely and the staff was very pleasant. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and the waitstaff was super. There isn't much at this hotel which of course I had an idea based on online descriptions. It's well suited for couples. Great location, easy to walk around old Montreal. Many restaurant options in the area.the decor is neat but... More

Fun hotel in good location in Old montreal. I had seen reviews it was loud. It definitely was not loud when we were there (Saturday night through Tuesday morning). The front desk is helpful with suggestions of places to eat and see. They help call you a cab and do not act overly in your face for a tip. The... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
