The room was lovely and the staff was very pleasant. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and the waitstaff was super. There isn't much at this hotel which of course I had an idea based on online descriptions. It's well suited for couples. Great location, easy to walk around old Montreal. Many restaurant options in the area.the decor is neat but... More

Fun hotel in good location in Old montreal. I had seen reviews it was loud. It definitely was not loud when we were there (Saturday night through Tuesday morning). The front desk is helpful with suggestions of places to eat and see. They help call you a cab and do not act overly in your face for a tip. The... More

I stayed here for 4 nights with my fiancee during the winter. It was a close enough walk from the train station (arrived using Via rail) to the hotel which proved to be convenient. This hotel is very charming and is decorated with unique art pieces. There is something very romantic about this hotel and we really enjoyed our stay.... More

This was an ideal location, came highly recommended by a family member. The building is in the old Montreal sector of the city and everything you want to do is in walking distance. The building has a lot of character and the furnishings are all from back in the days, great collection of artistic decor from local contributers. The staff... More

Hotel has great artwork and a quaint feel. Staff were very helpful, and I was glad to stay there as opposed to some of the larger hotels in the area. It is very convenient to the convention center, and to the Old Montreal tourist areas. If I go back, I will likely choose this location again. The rooms were very... More

Hotel is renovated very nicely and has all the features one could ask for. They have added a modern twist with painting and decorations throughout. Close to the Notre Dame Basilica and walking distance to the old town area. The room was very clean and again even old building the upkeep was exceptional. Okay...now for the Valet...bit tricky since there... More

We arrived at the hotel - very tired after an exhausting over seas flight and were so pleased with our choice of hotel. The rooms are very spacious with extremely high ceilings and the sitting area in front of the TV was a great place to relax. We enjoyed the Nespresso machine for our early morning coffee, and there was... More

Overall the property was nice. The rooms were spacious and in excellant conditions. I enjoyed the quant ambiance of the bar area. The staff was courteous and accomodating. The only dislikes was no iron / ironing board in the room and the "buffet breakfast" included in the rate was disappointing.

Hotel is very nice and original. Rooms are very spacious. Stayed for three nights. Easy walk to restaurants, stores, and downtown. Would be helpful if the hotel had some more information about the nearby area. Great for a short stay.

What a great place this is. I spent 2 nights here with family before having to move to a "venue hotel" for the Irish Dance Competition. I can't say enough kind things about LHotel. The staff went out of their way to assist and be warm and welcoming. I expected to practice my French, but everyone spoke perfect English. I... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
