This is a terrible hotel. In fact, the desk clerk gave me the same story about his credit card/interac machine not working, and that all had to be paid in cash. This hotel is really dirty, they charge you too much and they hardly offer you any service. They didn't even changed the sheets or cleaned the bathroom once in a whole week. I believe this hotel is a facade, they don't keep any administration nor they give you a receipt and all payments must be made in cash. The hotel... more

DO NOT stay at the Hotel de Kais. IMHO, I actually think its a brothel. After making reservations for a non smoking room with a Queen size bed and getting a stinky smokey room with 2 single beds, we stayed up all night listening to all the other people who had rooms around us.
