I am so glad I booked this hotel instead of a hostel. I think it is a great place for a great price. The staff was helpful, pleasant and spoke good English. Very clean. Fast elevator. The bathroom had the hottest water I have ever experience. It was immediately HOT every time I turned it on, no waiting time for... More

Great place to stay for the Grand Prix, as the metro station is a very short walk away, which is the primary route to the circuit (just 1 stop). It's a bit of a walk from the old town and depending on what route you take, you might come across a homeless area that can seem a bit intimidating late... More

This is the second time I've been to this Hotel mostly because of location and PRICE. Great price! Rooms are fairly large and quaint. Hotel staff are friendly. Check at the basement cave room with pool table! The surrounding neighborhood is not the best with bumbs and metal head who come out at night. However, the hotel is very close... More

We checked into our room. Curtains bit shabby. TV remote not working. Shower drain loose and basically felt like it hadn't been renovated since 1970. However. It was in a good neighborhood, there's lots of restaurants nearby and near Berri metro line. Slept well and staff were friendly.

This renovated hotel is 3 Star property, with quirky older building amenities, like an elevator that can only fit 12 people, and the staircase that wraps around the single elevator. The bathroom only had a corner shower, and no counter top except for a small ledge over the toilet. There was a large table in the corner of the room,... More

Very clean, very friendly and accommodating staff, location is outstanding. My wife was a bit leery when we first pulled up front, but was very satisfied after we had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel St. Denis.

Located by the UQÁM, this hotel is perfect for the Quartier Latin and the Quartier des Spectacles. The facilities are basic but work well enough. The AC can be very noisy but it chills the room very effectively when turned on and for most of the time it can stay off. I love the wooden floor that gives a clean... More

The hotel is situated in the Latin Quarter so very handy to central city. Our room was spacious and comfortable. It was reasonably priced and central to all we needed. It is not far from Chinatown, just a 5 minute walk and also about a 5 minute walk to the main shopping area in town.

The hotelroom was clean but not that big. Big enough though . Hotel is located in Latin Quarter, with lots if nice restaurants. Old Montreal is within walking distance (20 min.) Great value for money.

We went up to Montreal for the Women's World Cup Soccer and wanted a place to stay in Old Montreal. We knew we would be taking in the sites and out and about all day, so we basically needed a nice place to crash. My wife and two daughters ages 10 and 13 stayed in room 416 which was a... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
