I stayed one night at Hotel St Denis. The cost was just over $90 after the tax was added. I showed up a couple of hours before the check in time. One of the two girls on reception took my credit card info (a deposit in case of damages) and checked me in while the other went to see if... More

The Hotel St-Denis was a bit of a surprise, but in a good way! I found the room to be quite clean, relatively spacious and the front desk people to be quite nice. I got a deal on the room from an online site for about $130CAD all-in for a holiday weekend Friday night. For Montreal, in the Latin Quarter,... More

Booked this hotel through Hotwire (so hotel hidden until I prepaid). For $45/night this was a fantastic score! Great location, decent sized room, comfortable bed, good housekeeping and front desk staff were friendly and responsive. I was in room 115 which is (American) 2nd floor on the back of the hotel. Facing an UQAM building across the roof (so view... More

J'ai fait un séjours magnifique au St-Denis! Very friendly staff, very clean room, great location, good value for price. My only complaint was some noisy guests across the hall, but the staff responded quickly and resolved the problem. I would happily stay here again. One small caveat: it might not be the best place for someone highly sensitive to noise;... More

I and my boyfriend went to Montreal on December in 2014. We hope to get a wonderful trip during 5 days which means we would stay Hotel St-Denis in 4 nights. As a consumer, we always use less money to expect higher quality, especially, after we considered we have to purchase a lot of goods in this boxing week. There... More

My wife and I stayed in the suite for three nights and we had a great stay. It's good value for money and walking distance to a lot of Montreal's attractions, bars and restaurants including Vieux-Montréal. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The room was spacious, clean, well laid out and the spa was great.

I want to like Hotel St-Denis. I stayed here years ago and liked the location but was rudely left a note from the cleaning staff demanding a tip (I normally do tip, but didn't have less than a $20 bill on hand--this wasn't a "please tip if you like the room" note, but "we are expecting a tip" note...). The... More

I have stayed at many hi end hotels in Montreal but if you are looking for a place that is very reasonably priced located in an awesome location ... this is the best place to stay in Montreal! I will be making this my hotel of choice for future stays!

for a single traveler, really good value for the money. Clean, simple, no frills. In a great location near a lot of night life. Cannot expect the Ritz for the money, but it works. Parking either on the street or for a fairly reasonable amount nearby.

Booked hotel through a travel website. The front clerk wanted to charge me again. Offered to kick us out of the hotel. Found bottle caps in the couch and bed. Stains on couches. Bright side, very well located. The rooms were large.

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
