I booked this boutique hotel through the fine hotels and resorts and actually found it to be a great value for a really fantastic and really private hotel. The location is very good in old Montreal and the rooms were quite nice and spacious. I think the shower might have been the highlight of the room. Never have I been... More

This gem of a hotel situated in the beautiful old part of Montreal is worth a visit. From the minute we arrived we felt at home and the friendly staff contributed to making this another memorable experience. Attention to detail and the beautifully furnished rooms was a pleasure to experience. The weekend was worth every penny. A truly inspirational weekend

From the moment Pat helps you out of your car and helps you inside to the moment you leave you will be impressed. All the staff are terrific. The restaurant, spa and bar are great. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well appointed. Grand Old Hotel feel in Old Town Montreal. We hated to leave. When we return to Montreal... More

Stayed 2 nights on business in this small luxury hotel. Excelent laqrge rooms, outstanding bed and good sower. Smakll as it has only 60-70 rooms and staff really is out to please their guests. Excelent front office people and very friendly concierge. Hotel is in the center of it all -business and Old City of Montreal. Real luxury

I stayed here with my friend, who has a lot more reasons than me to be angry about our stay at 'Hotel Le St-James'. My biggest complaint was that halfway through our stay the large suite / room opposite the lifts on our floor emitted the strongest odour of an illegal substance which permeated throughout our floor. We laughed about... More

I stayed recently on business and was very impressed. The hotel is old school (remember the days of leaving your keys at reception?) but with a modern, funky vibe in the communal areas. Rooms were very clean and spacious and with charming decor. The spa was impressive - individual changing rooms with your own sauna and steam room and treatments... More

Some hotels are just expensive. Others are expensive but deserve every last dime in your pocket; and this is one. Even if it were 1000 miles beyond the moon we'd go again, but the location at the very edge of the Old Port (old Montreal) is hitting the nail on the head. Even better- there's a staff that pours unending... More

A tremendous stay at the wonderfully warm and charming hotel with a classy heritage style and genuine personal service. Large bedrooms, powerful water pressure for a great shower, great amenities and the warmest guest treatment I have received at a hotel in a very long time - I shall definitely stay again

This hotel is well located in Old Montreal and is walking distance to downtown or the hockey arena. We were treated by friendly and helpful staff and had a very comfortable room ( but no view). The dining room and restaurant, XO, was spacious and uncrowded. The food and service were excellent. There was a downside to the plumbing. We... More

This was my first stay at the Le St. James hotel. The hotel is very old world including the keys which are European style...large and heavy and can be left at the front desk. The location was ideal for a business dinner around the corner and there are excellent French restaurants and cafe's within easy walking distance. The room was... More

Staying in Quartier International

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier International
Designed to connect and beautify unused space, today the Quartier International is like a transversal piece of modern art. The distinctive design flair is most apparent at its focal point, the Palais des Congres, a convention center and retail space with a multi-colored glass exterior and an equally bold interior motif. Outdoors too, the Quartier is friendly towards public art exhibits along its stylish, plotted city squares, with extra-wide sidewalks meant to encourage long strolls and shaded benches available for absorbing the atmosphere. Fresh air and promenades characterize the area, from the foliage of Victoria Square to the fountain of Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, while the restaurants along Rue Saint-Antonie Ouest and Metro stops modeled in the Parisian style give off European glamour.
