This hotel is in an old converted bank and the conversion makes fantastic use of the space. The huge, high-ceilinged restaurant is memorable. The hotel is well-located for the tourist sites. We enjoyed our massages in the hotel's basement spa.

Service is amazing. Food and martinis just as amazing. Personally, I LOVE the coffee. What I love even more is the linens on the beds/duvet/pillows/slippers...OMG, can't wait to go back. EA, Burlington, Ontario

I arrived very late, American Airlines having lost my luggage onion spite of a 3 hour layover. Reception could have not been more helpful with shaving kit etc. Very good room service supper, attractive immaculate large room with a bowl of fruit and excellent breakfast. A really first rate hotel and reasonably priced for the exceptional quality.

My travels have taken me to some of the best properties around the world. But in terms of luxury and consistently impeccable service, nothing beats this hotel. The rooms are small but luxurious, with all the amenities you could want. The suites are breathtaking - and every suite is different. The Royal Suite is one of the most beautiful suites... More

It sounds a bit trite to complain about the coffee in such a terrific hotel - but they bill themselves as a "high touch - attention to detail" kind of place - and their coffee "lacks a je me sais quoi", in fact it's really not good. Not just once but the few times I say there to try to... More

Nice older hotel. The rooms are a little old and need some updates. We had to change rooms few times due to the electric static on the bed sheets. Right ! I travel a lot and this is first. The staff is nice and friendly. The restaurant is good. I would say the value is not all there for the... More

This is a small boutique hotel with impeccable service. The location is great in Old Montreal and in easy walking distance to some great restaurants. The rooms are well laid out and space is not an issue. I understand that this used to be a Bank that was converted to a Hotel. The only drawback is that if your room... More

Loved this hotel. Rooms were awesome, staff very helpful and friendly. We had pre purchased tickets for a helicopter flight through what I would now call a dodgy site, and the concierge did all he could to get our tickets honoured. He was still following up after we had left his hotel. Unbelievable. Location was fabulous, close to old Montreal.... More

Friends recommended the St.-James as "the place to stay" in Montreal, and they were right. It's elegant and refined, with excellent service. We had a roomy and romantic Deluxe Junior Suite on the 10th floor with a gas fireplace, iron chandelier, and handsome African-inspired furniture. The bed was very comfortable, and the only negative was the truck noise from the... More
