A tremendous stay at the wonderfully warm and charming hotel with a classy heritage style and genuine personal service. Large bedrooms, powerful water pressure for a great shower, great amenities and the warmest guest treatment I have received at a hotel in a very long time - I shall definitely stay again

This hotel is well located in Old Montreal and is walking distance to downtown or the hockey arena. We were treated by friendly and helpful staff and had a very comfortable room ( but no view). The dining room and restaurant, XO, was spacious and uncrowded. The food and service were excellent. There was a downside to the plumbing. We... More

This was my first stay at the Le St. James hotel. The hotel is very old world including the keys which are European style...large and heavy and can be left at the front desk. The location was ideal for a business dinner around the corner and there are excellent French restaurants and cafe's within easy walking distance. The room was... More

We had an incredible stay in Montreal, which the hotel attempted to ruin. I'll start by saying the hotel staff seem to believe they are above customers who are not wearing a business suit, and they let you know it at all times. But on to the more useful elements of our trip... We arrived and on our first night... More

It is unfortunate that this contibutor did not enjoy his stay at Hotel Le St-James. As the comments of many of your other contributors demonstrate, the vast majority of our guests leave with a very favourable impression of their experience at our hotel. We would like to make clear that the pre-authorization of a guest credit card to cover eventual... More

Beautifully appointed and eager to please, this hotel and staff are efficient, warm, and elegant. There is a pet fee of $40, which included pet amenities. Would you you like these now, or at turndown time? Bowls and a tray, and a pet bed for sleeping - oh, no, this bed is too small. We have a range of sizes... More

The building, its architecture and decor are an attraction all of its own! The location is perfect and the staff here are wonderful. For dining, there are more exceptional offerings around the city that are worth trying. However, for accomodations, I don't think that you can do better than the St. James in Montreal!

This is a beautiful building-housed in an old bank. It is generally very well rated and while good perhaps over rated. Restaurant is ok but not worth going out of your way for in a city with many good options. Thier heritage rooms are very nice and very comfortable, well furnished with good service. Overall I'd say it's 85-90 ot... More

We stayed at Hotel Le St-James for a little weekend getaway from Toronto and it was everything we could have asked for and more. All of the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. They organized a reservation for us at a local restaurant and made some really great brunch recommendations when the place we wanted to go to was... More

This elegant hotel welcomed us rather scruffy travelers as if we had been delivered by limousine rather than driving ourselves up to the front door in our modest car. My young son and I had a fun stay and enjoyed the room service, restaurant and our large, well-appointed and quiet room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is... More

Really enjoyed this hotel. Good sized room, elegantly furnished with a really nice large bathroom. Cool more modern bar/restaurant with excellent food. Great service. Central location. Couldn't fault it.

Staying in Quartier International

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier International
Designed to connect and beautify unused space, today the Quartier International is like a transversal piece of modern art. The distinctive design flair is most apparent at its focal point, the Palais des Congres, a convention center and retail space with a multi-colored glass exterior and an equally bold interior motif. Outdoors too, the Quartier is friendly towards public art exhibits along its stylish, plotted city squares, with extra-wide sidewalks meant to encourage long strolls and shaded benches available for absorbing the atmosphere. Fresh air and promenades characterize the area, from the foliage of Victoria Square to the fountain of Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, while the restaurants along Rue Saint-Antonie Ouest and Metro stops modeled in the Parisian style give off European glamour.
