I stayed at the Grey Nuns Residence in August 2014, during the Osheaga Music Festival long week-end. My room (single person room with private bathroom) was sufficient. In my opinion, the room could have been cleaned a little more thoroughly, but it was acceptable for the one night I was staying there. Unfortunately, I slept terribly. Surprisingly, it wasn't because... More

I took the train to Montreal so no need for parking. The cost was $44 per night plus taxes. Came out to just over $400 for 8 nights. Pluses: - Convenient location for walking to lots of popular coffee shops (Starbucks, Second Cup, Time Hortons), popular eateries (such as Cacao 70, Kazu, and 3 Amigos), two movie theatres, gyms, shopping... I expected a simple room and that is what I got. Unfortunately there was no hot water, and the bathrooms were very dirty. The one bright spot was the staff at the front desk were cheerful and helpful.

I stayed at Grey Nun's on July 5 & 6, 2013. I managed to get a parking spot right out front in the 15 minute zone that's allowed for check in. The check in was quite easy, the security guard called the student on duty who came right down and completed the process. She was very friendly and helpful so... More

I stayed at this place in Montreal for a few nights which is a Concordia University student residence which used to be a nunnery and rents out dorm rooms to tourists in the summer. The rooms are quiet spacious and clean and have large windows. There is no air conditioning so one night when is was hot out the staff... More

I stayed in a single room on the 4th floor. The room is pretty big (you could fit 3 bunk beds in it !) and has a sink, big cupboards, bed, desk, shelves and a fridge. You are given sheets and one towel. The showers and toilets are shared and there are kitchens and common living rooms on each floor.... More

Each year during the summer, Concordia open up their student accomodation - a former Nunary for guests to make use of. Whilst at first I was put off by the prospect at staying at a coverted Nunary, one I was staying there I felt that I had made the right choice. In terms of location, it's just off St Catherines... Got a double with en-suite for a night and it's very basic. Bathroom was disappointing. The sink was a little gross, it was clean but needed to be replaced. Mattress is the typical dorm style mattress so its not overly comfortable (it was good enough for one night). Location was very good, but for the price (~$100 for the double... More
