It's a small hotel in the best part of the city. Good restaurants a few steps from the hotel. It's a old building renewed in a very good quality. I stayed in the last floor, wonderful loft with 2 bedrooms. The bad thing is go upstairs without elevator with childrens and luggage. All the staff is friendly and receptive.

Very lovely loft room, with a full kitchen, from check in to check out the staff were amazing and extremely polite and helpful , especially David the bell man! We stayed in the lofts at the corner of St Paul and St Laurent st, which had a lovely view. My only complaint was in the bathroom, the glass shower door,... More

Apartment was huge above the Steakhouse right in the heart of the old town. Service from the staff was excellent with nothing too much trouble. It could be a little noisy from the street noise at night but that's really the downside of being right in the thick of it.

The location is spot on with easy and safe walking to restaurants and attractions. The accommodation is spacious although in need of a little refreshment in its decor and furnishings but at the price who is to complain. The staff could not be more helpful. An ideal choice when visiting Montreal

We stayed at the lofts at the end of October. These are like skiing and he studio apartment. As noted in prior reviews, you have to take the stairs as there is no elevator. The lofts themselves are beautiful in bed. The kitchen is very nice too. Bring cone shaped coffee filters with you. Breakfast is not included, but that... More

Fantastic room, with a king sized bed and sleeper sofa, large screen TV, kitchenette and huge bathroom that had heated floors! Beautiful design, décor and accent lighting added to the experience. It was so comfortable and felt like home away from home. There was plenty of room for 3 adults to stay comfortably. And it was a perfect location for... More

Nice room, spacious living room area with a nice kitchen, well appointed but without a full stove. Nice sized bedroom and upscale bathroom. I was surprised that it is not part of the hotel but an off-site property. Only a few minute walk from check-in and they were very helpful with carrying my luggage. If you're looking for a larger... We chose this hotel for it's location to the cruise terminal. We found out, that for the same price that we paid, some had a suite, some had rooms double our size and some had rooms like ours. Don't understand the pricing. Apparently people like to party until 3:00 to 4:00 a.m. outside the hotel. People yelling, vehicles revving engines,... More

This is the second time we have stayed at the Lofts and will go back again. Great location, big, well appointed rooms, and an amazing, friendly staff. Located right in the heart of Old Town/Old Port district and in the middle of all the nightlife. Great food at the restaurants and a terrific roof top bar overlooking the old port.... More

We stayed for two nights here and were surprised by a number of things. Although there is a lot of space, i.e., kitchen area, sitting area, bed area, and bathroom, the overall impression we had was that it should be re done. Several areas on the walls were marked, dirty, paint missing. The carpet beneath the coffee table looked like it... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
