My wife and I stayed here for 2nights after nieces wedding at their partner hotel Nelligen. Service, rooms and location are all excellent and we had a great stay. We were in a loft 5th mins away from main hotel above restaurant Modavie (also excellent and owned by the Nelligen) with good views and morning sunshine Some construction work going... More

I brought my 2 kids to Montreal and we loved this place. The location is wonderful and just down the hall from our apartment was a washer and dryer (invaluable when you have kids). There are no elevators- so we had to walk up 3 floors of stairs but I don't mind that at all. The only thing was that... More

We've stayed at the Lofts of Auberge du Vieux Port a few times now and will definitely be back. The décor is beautiful but, to us, one of the main features is the knowledgable and very friendly staff. These people will bend over backwards to help you in any way and most, like Fred, are very knowledgable about all of... More

Upon determining that a weekend in the Old Port area of Montreal would make a wonderful Valentines Day gift to my very deserving wife, the issue then became where to stay. I have stayed in many hotels in Montreal, due to business, and was trying to avoid going back to any of them - just to try something new/different. Initially... More

We travel to Montreal quite a bit to visit family, and have stayed in many different hotels around the city. Lofts du Vieux Port is a great find. We were two families with children staying in two separate apartments. Both apartments were spacious and well-appointed. We had a king bed in a closed bedroom, a queen bed in a loft,... More

Recently, I treated myself and a dear friend to a 5 day trip to Montreal. I have been to Montreal times but it was a first for my friend. We took advantage of the warm day and spent a lot of time sight-seeing. Our trip was made memorable by booking our last night at the Lofts du Vieux-Port. We were... More

My first time staying in old Montreal, I stayed in one of the lofts. And although it was nice and spacious, the lighting in the washroom was horrible and there was no blow dryer in the room, I was also not prepared that I had to bring my own coffee etc. And that I was staying a few blocks from... Dear Guest, We thank you for taking the time to share your experience you had in the Lofts du Vieux Port. The lofts are more of an independent feeling for you to have in the Old Montreal yet rest assured that during your stay, you are connected to the front desk for anything that you wish to have or need.... Our loft location was ideal - 2 floors up from a wine bar with beautiful views of the streets of Montreal. Very large and unique, with exposed brick, hardwood, a small kitchen/dining area, and a very open plan. The perfect combination of privacy (no other hotel guests/staff or passing through a lobby area) and amenities of a hotel. Recommended if... More

If you want to live like a local, in the heart of old Montreal then the Lofts DVP is the boutique experience for you. The lofts are beautiful; New York hip with heritage feel. Exposed brick, hardwood floors, spacious and well decorated. The service is outstanding with valet parking and charming bellmen. There isn't a lift in the loft section... More

We stayed here for a weekend for our anniversary and loved it. Reminded me of France. Stone exposed walls and wood floors. We stayed in one of the rooms across the street (not the main part). Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
