We had a great stay at the Hotel de Paris over the Easter weekend. The staff were very helpful, and the room was spotless and modern looking. We were thrilled to find a downtown location, just around the corner from rue St. Denis and a short walk to the waterfront and old Montreal, for such a low room rate. The... More

Hello atticgirl7, Thank you for your recent review of our hotel. I am pleased that you found your stay with us to be an enjoyable one. Our budget rooms are small (we are very forth coming about that fact) but as you mention, we make a point to keep our rooms extremely clean and comfortable for our guests. Perhaps on... More

Cute b&b style hotel in a great downtown location. Front desk manager was really knowledgeable and gave lots of good advice on restaurants and things to see. Room was small but clean and ours on the 4th floor was quiet. We easily walked to old town and china town, and the metro/bus is nearby. Overall, great budget stay.

If you can get past a few hairs in your bed, this place is actually a quite charming stay. My stay lasted two days, and we stayed in the executive suite across the street in the annex. Lovely room! Right in the corner of the building, and large bay windows. Bathroom was small, as well as breakfast, but totally feels... More

I was really surprised by Hotel de Paris. It is centrally located and perfect for taking the metro, bus, or even walking. I read some pretty crappy reviews here about bugs and walls that were paper thin and was ready to cancel our booking. However, I figured that for one night I could tough it out, and I’m glad that... Dear Rachel1073, Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. We too are glad that you decided to give us a try, despite some other comments, and found that our location, friendly service, design and clean rooms were worth it. The description you provide sounds like one of our Budget rooms; small but cozy, they’re the perfect choice... More

Feels like a former youth hostel converted into a cozy hotel. positive: - Staff (very helpfull and friendly, willing to help you out to find parking) - Well located - cheap - free breakfast negative: - can be noisy (paperthin walls.... old building, can't do much about that) ... that's about it! My only suggestion: a hook on the bathroom... More

We got there and it was a good surprise for us. The hotel lobby is nice and clean, smells good and is pretty. Since it's christmas time, they decorated the place with great attention so we were off for a good start. I don't know why people bother with the parking ? I lived in Montreal for 6 years, this... Dear Espionne_Russe, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and providing us with your suggestions. We are glad you enjoyed our holiday decorations. We have made a special effort this year to make an impression. Your suggestions for our annex building across the street correspond exactly with our improvement plans we already have in place. We recently... More

Stayed here in December this year. Had noticed a huge difference from about 10-years ago when I stayed last. Big improvements in the newly renovated rooms; beds and blankets/pillows made us want to stay in bed forever... so comfortable. Clean and tidy, new television and renovated showers. Great location, conveniently footsteps away from downtown without being too close or too... More

The hotel was ok, great location however the room was so so. Could hear everything happening in the room nextdoor...tv, conversation...even keys...I sometime got scared that they could open my door. If that doesn't bother you, then this hotel is adequate. I must say that the night shift staff is fine.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
