Very hospitable hosts, parking is possible, rooms are small but certainly adequate. The location is really great for walking down to restaurants and shops. And the breakfasts, taken in adjoining cafe, are quite well prepared and served - very personalized service. The hotel is nicely decorated throughout. The only downside, for people who do not like walking upstairs, is that... More

Finding one room for five people in Montreal was challenging so we were delighted when we came across the Hotel de Paris "family room" which has two double beds and one twin. The twin seems to have a trundle bed underneath it so it might even fit 6 people if you're traveling with kids. The parking was very reasonably priced... More

Excellent for the price. I have never had such a nice gigantic room for so little, except in India. I booked a 'queen deluxe' room for New Year's which actually ended up being a third-floor king room in the annex across the street. That room was huge! And right on the corner in the turret with 5 large windows facing... More

I just came back from a trip to Montreal, and I spent 3 nights at the hotel. The hotel looks quaint and nice from the outside, although the steps are quite intimidating considering all the snow that has fallen during the trip. The room is nice and clean, but it's very, very small. Other than the bed, the desk and... More

Thank you for taking the time to write. Your comments are very helpful. It's definitely worth noting that reception is accessed by an outside staircase, though the staff can help bring luggage upstairs, upon request. As for the room, we offer a few different categories to fit different budgets. If a guests wants more space to move around, we would... More

The hotel was very warm, the staff were generally helpful, the rooms were cozy and had parisian-themed decor sprinkled throughout corridors, however: the hotel is rather expensive but deals can be found occasionlly. The only downside is that the beds are not very comfortable. Worth a look if you have the money.

I had a very pleasant stay in this cute hotel in the center of Montréal. It is very well located (close to metro station and bus station), the staff is super friendly and helpful, the room was clean and lovely. The only negative point is that you can often hear what's going on in the corridor and sometimes in the... More

Thank you for the kind words! We're very glad you enjoyed the facilities, and had a pleasant stay. It is an historical building, but we are working on the sound-proofing and improving the plumbing. Hopefully you can come back soon, and see for yourself! Thanks again. More

Needed a central hotel to sleep after a latish arrival from France. Nice, good size room, little bathroom but everything you would need. Little kitchen area in the room and a fab Thai restaurant next to the main part of the hotel. I managed to get a take away and escape to my room. A little negative note is that... More

I was a bit concerned after seing the comments on Trip Advisor, but I had a pleasant stay for the weekend. Good location and close to Quartier Latin, where there are a lot of restaurants and bars, also close to the subway station. Nice staff and clean room. A bit old, but it wasn't a problem for me.

My wife and daughter were running in the 1/2 marathon and marathon on 9/20/15. We reserved a room for 4 nights and when we got there the booking company had not forwarded our reservation to them. Being a small hotel, Alex said he did not have any rooms available but would do his best to find us something. He did... More

I'm glad we were able to help out! Your mix-up was a result of a very rare glitch in the booking site you used. While this is a very uncommon occurrence, it is still always wise to verify the reservation with the hotel, if you made the booking through a third-party website. Thanks for writing! - Dylan More

NIce, clean room close to all the excitement of downtown Montreal. This hostile offered a wonderful atmosphere for my daughter and I visiting the city. The staff were always available and helpful with directions and wake up calls when needed. The shared kitchen was great for us, as any leftovers from dining out could be brought back and warmed up... Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
