Good location, close to Sherbrooke metro station. Close to St Denis Street, but quite a walk away from the cheaper joints like McDonalds and Subway. A bagel place is close by at the junction of Sherbrooke and St. Denis. Other eateries on St. Denis seemed pricey, even though I didn't try them. Staff needs to be trained on the various... More

The hotel is conveniently located close to Sherbrooke metro station and St. Denis street which has lots of retaurants and pubs which are open until late night. This is a budget hotel, so its better not to have very high expectations. The lady at the reception was very nice and friendly. We were allotted our rooms without any fuss even... More

The room we got was so tiny there was really no space to put the luggage anywhere. The hotel is quaint and cute, but it does not compensate for the fact that one cannot take a step in the room. They do not clean rooms here every day and even on the day when the hotel was cleaned our room... More

We stayed in the annex across the street from the main hotel in a corner Queen suite. The room was large but the noise from the hallway was very loud. The bathroom was tiny and kind of dated but clean. The bed was super comfy. Tiny tv with limited channels, but who goes to Montreal to watch tv anyway? Proximity... More

Here are my lines for those who might be interested to know about this hotel: 1- Customer service was OK, and receptionists were polite, except Alex. Alex was unfriendly. 2- Better to book online. If you get a price/quote over the phone (even with exact dates), be prepared to pay more for the same room. I got something over the... More

I booked this hotel for one of my friends who were visiting me in Montreal. It was a nice corner room and had a lot of space. She stayed at a building across from where the front desk was located but in the main building, there was a nice Thai restaurant where you can get pretty good food. The only... More

The hotel has a great location close to the Montreal downtown. It is really close to Saint-Denis street which holds a good number of pubs and places to eat. The hotel is clean and overall confortable. On the down side the bathroom is a bit small and the price could be better. Although honestly it ain't expensive when you compare... More

We stayed in this hostel in January/ February 2014 for 3 weeks while looking for a job in Montreal and for a stable, private accommodation, and we were satisfied, but I heard that it got even better since then. I liked the atmosphere, the living room, the free coffee that we got every morning. It is also in a very... More

We stayed here August 2014 for Osheaga. I'm not a snooty traveler; in general, as long as there's somewhere for me to bathe, sleep, and put my clothes away, then I'll be happy (especially when I'm at a music festival). At Hotel de Paris, you get all of that... as long as you plummet your expectations. Highlights include: - Non-existent... More

A friendly and helpful reception staff greeted us upon our arrival to show us to our rooms across the street at the Annex building. The rooms were well kept and ready for us ahead of schedule. It wasn't until we returned to our room that evening that we noticed we could hear our neighbours on all sides of the room.... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
