Very nice centrally located hotel. Our room was clean with a king size bed. There was a small fridge, sink, microwave and coffe maker in the room. Our 'view' was on the next office building but... hey, we weren't there to look outside the window! Parking is available ($$). Breakfast is also included (serve yourself). The location is perfect for... More

Stayed here one night as we were going to a show at Theatre St-Denis (15 mins Uber ride away) and wanted to go out to les 2 Pierrots bar after the show. This hotel is 3 blocks from les 2 Pierrots and right in old Montreal. Rooms a large with a wet bar, micro-wave and bar fridge in the room.... More

Great location near old town. Lots of dining options around. Hotel was average but the price was good. They were undergoing renovations at the time so it was dusty and you could smell the fumes from the paint and construction. Easy check in/out. Parking garage on site was helpful and reasonable.

Close to everything, on middle of old Montreal, I meant walk distance to: restaurants, bars, museums, Le Fleuve Saint-Laurent. Such a good way to enjoy a weekend without the stress of traffic, public transit, sirens, etc. Clean room with a balcony for "fresh air", nice hot tub to relax after long walks, breakfast (Coffee, juices, bagels, croissants, fresh fruits, eggs,... what a nice modern hotel in the middle of Old Montreal! Conveniently located, close to restaurants, museums, and all of the beautiful sights that this part of town has to offer. Our room was recently renovated and nicely laid out. Loved having the microwave and fridge. Not a bad view overlooking the intersection at the front of the hotel. Breakfast... More

Springhill Suites is my preferred Marriott brand for leisure travel, but we had a mixed experience at this one. The location is fabulous---one block from restaurants and shops in Old Montreal and adjacent parking. The breakfast was wonderful---boiled or scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, sausage, juices, fruit, variety of baked items including heavenly croissants, real plates and flatware rather than paper... More

Dear Elizabeth C, Thank you for taking the time to post a reply on Trip Advisor. We are very pleased you appreciated our wonderful central location and our delicious breakfast buffet! We are sorry you did not have a better view, but as a low-rise hotel nestled in the heart of Old Montreal, only a few of our top floors... More

Great spot, just one block off of the "strip" (Rue St. Paul). Staff was terrific all around. Very pleasant stay. Few things worth noting... Valet parking @ $23/day adds up. Lobby was under renovation. Room (single king suite) was a bit awkward - very little drawer space and the closet was about as far from the door as you can... More

The best part of this hotel is the staff. They were extremely helpful and friendly and willing to accommodate all our requests during our 2 night stay! The room was very clean but there was lots of wasted space in the room that could have been utilized to make the room more guest friendly. Location is great, close to Notre... More

I often stay by the airport when traveling to Montreal. But, on a recent trip i had a little extra time one night and wanted a decent meal and the chance to walk around Old Montreal a bit. The Springhill Suites Marriott had an excellent location, easy to walk throughout the area ( so I didn't need to deal with... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
