We stayed during a long weekend, so it was a little noisy, but worth it for the location. Just around the corner is a huge range of bars and restaurants for all tastes along with some very pretty, historic buildings. Our room was large with two double beds, sofa, kitchenette and large bathroom. Could have used a little more storage... More

This is not your typical SpringHill Suites. The hotel, is on par with a full Marriott. However, it does not have a concierge lounge. What it does have? Excellent location in the middle of the most beautiful part of the city: Vieux Montreal or Old Montreal. It is Old Europe in North America. Breakfast was included, and it was solid.... More

We stayed at the SpringHill Suites in old Montreal from May 7-11th. The hotel is very well run with great front desk and housekeeping staff. Anna at the Front Desk was particularly helpful as she personally ensured we got premier service at one of the most popular bistros off Jacques Cartier Plaza. Without her personal contacts we would have lined-up... More

I was supposed to be here two nights ago. However, I lost my wallet and all of my credit cards on the day I was supposed to fly to Montreal. So, I did not meet my cousins until last night. Our last night in Montreal. The room happened to be small, the city, too large and too French. Two blocks... More

Have stayed here three or four times. Suites are comfortable and clean, the included breakfast is fine, replete with real butter croissants. Love the location in the Old Port but right near St. Laurent and Chinatown. Staff friendly and efficient.

This hotel is in a great location if you want to be in Old Montreal and be close to good restaurants and to explore the city on foot. Breakfast buffet is included in the price so that's a bonus. The hotel rooms are quite large and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. It has free wi-fi. The receptionists were... More

I was expecting an aged hotel like you might find in NYC, but though this is in the old quarter, the interior has been upgraded and is very spacious. You can't beat the location being in the centre of the old town with all the restaurants and little galleries, shops, and other attractions. The hotel staff are very friendly and... More

We travelled here for a wedding in which more than 50 people stayed at this hotel. The hotel was beautiful, we are a group that would let you know if anything was wrong with a location, and I didn't hear a bad word! This was a great place to stay. The reservations were handled well. I am impressed with how... More

Have stayed here several times as it is within easy walking distance of restaurants and shopping in Old Montreal. Hotel is clean, as is the pool area. Pool is on small side, but still very nice to have. Parking is not cheap! But then you can leave your car and walk to everything.

We often stay at Marriott properties and find the quality can differ. The lobby and common areas looked tired but clean. We had a large corner suite. Everything was new and clean. The hotel is attached to a spa which was convinced for our massages! Hotel staff was polite and helpful. Good location. Breakfast was fine. Downside the rooms have... More

Dear 1funmum, Thank you for your feedback! We do apologize for the noisy HVAC units. We do a proactive maintenance and clean out the filters at the beginning of each season, but we have also advised maintenance of your comment. After finalizing the renovations of our guest rooms this past March, we will also be renovating all corridors, public spaces... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
