I see a lot of reviews saying "don't go", "terrible hotel" etc. I don't quite agree. I was very happy with the location - only two blocks south to St. Catherine. If you prefer, you could cook your own meal in a new kitchen. The walls aren't very soundproof but we had no issue. The beds were very comfy, the... More

I stayed in this aparthotel with my husband for our wedding anniversary. Booked through booking.com. It was a very terrible horrible disgusting aparthotel we've ever stayed at. 1. No elevator. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we had to carry everything up using the stairs. We have a toddler and a baby meaning lots of stuff to carry.... More

This is not a hotel. There is no parking, no front desk, and no guest services. It says no elevator. It does not say you will need to carry your luggage four floors on your own. When you arrive, the door is locked. You must call a number assuming you have a phone and assuming your phone has a carrier.... More

Stayed here for 8 nights, safe to say this is not a hotel but is basically an apart-hotel. Do not expect frills! Positives: The apartments are a good size - good sized bedroom, living room and separate kitchen. Clean towels every day, beds made up and all your basics like toilet paper etc. replaced. We asked for extra toilet roll... More

Man, I loved this place! But, I can see why others might not be so keen on it. If you like the idea of having your own apartment in downtown Montreal this is a great place for you, just know that no one is going to show up to replace the toilet paper or fluff your pillows… Getting there -Check... Unexpectedly, I had to go to Montreal and stay for one night to go to a funeral the next day. I booked a room through Travelocity. The hotel's profile indicated check-in was from 3-10PM. So I show up at 9:40- it's locked, no one is there. Two phone number are taped to the vestibule door. I called each, multiple times.... More

I have a mixed review on this one - I clearly did not do my research well and booked this in a hurry. I THOUGHT I had a booked a hotel and was very disappointed to find it was an apartment. So my mixed review is on both aspects. This is advertised as a hotel and there is nothing hotel... More

Ideal location at Sherbrooke and Ave du Parc. The suite is clean, reasonably priced and comes with a full kitchen and living room. Current pricing reflects the hotel as there are no facilities and free wifi is ok but sporadic. Ideal for families on a budget.

This hotel would be great for extended stays. Then it would not matter that there is no one in the foyer and you must phone a number to have them bring you a key. We arrived early and hoped to park and leave our bags at least, but could not get in the building and a sign said no checkin... More

When we arrived to the guesthouse, there wasn't anybody. We had reserved and paid a room for the whole week! We had to call to a number, we tried once, twice... At least six times within 1,5 hours and nobody picked up. It was -35 degrees outside and there wasn't any heating in the lobby... We called to Agoda.com who... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
