Great budget hotel located in Montreal centre close to everything from the old part to the rue saint Denis restaurants and next to Chinatown. A lot of great small Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants to try. Try Dim Sum. The room is typical budget, small but comfortable and nice view of Montreal.

located conveniently to the convention centre and to China town, where good Chinese meals(KanBai) were enjoyed just around the corner from the hotel, shopping and to the Place des Arts. The room was small with a double bed but newly renovated and adequate. As we are early risers the noise of renovation did not have an effect. The air conditioner... More

Stayed 4 nights and was woken up each day between 530am and 6am as hotel is currently undergoing renovation. Many guests complained about noise but was told hotel was full and to put up with it Hotel is conveniently located but room was tiny with 2 Children sized bed and small table. One of the affordable hotels in montreal, rooms are small but okay if you are staying for business, the hotel could place some hangars. Would have liked a more varied breakfast assortment. The lady from breakfast was helpfull and friendly. Overall good, in walking distance of businesses, shops, convenience stores and near china town. The front desk could use an... More

I am very late in writing this review, and I apologize for that. I stayed here for a week in June 2014. I had booked and prepaid through a large travel concern, and they apparently screwed something up. When I got to the hotel, I was told that my reservation had been cancelled. I showed them my prepaid reservation, and... More

We got a good rate for this hotel so feel that we got what we paid for. The hotel is under renovation so there is a bit of construction noise and debris but it is something that can not be avoided. The lobby is welcoming and the staff were very efficient and pleasant. Our room was like a dorm room.... More

After reading the reviews on Tripadvisor, I was prepared to be disappointed with this hotel. I wasn't responsible for making the reservations for this trip and quite possibly would never have booked here. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my 3 night stay. Yes, the rooms are small, so if you're visiting Montreal and planning to spend a lot of... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighborhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centers, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
