This hotel is very well situated in the lower eastern part of the downtown core of Montreal, just a few short blocks away from Chinatown and the Quartier des Spectacles, an easy walk to the vibrant Old Montreal or Quartier Latin with its terrasses. Don't expect luxury, this is a traveller's hotel, there is a restaurant that opens at 6:00am... More

Great location, friendly staff, but the hotel is in need of an update. Toilets in both rooms were constantly running and did not flush well. Bathtub faucet was installed at an angle and patched with caulking. Nothing significant enough to spoil the stay, and the rate wasn't bad, but it didn't feel great to be there.

The Price was reasonable, and for a reason it seems... When I checked in I found the desk clerk very slow and lacking in customer service niceties - it took forever to check me in; she stared blankly at computer for some reason, then she put key on counter and said nothing else - it was weird and confusing -... If you'd like to stay in a place full of black mold, this is the place. Don't be thrown off by the hotel's new lobby furniture, the rooms are very disgusting. I've attached a few pictures for you to decide. Oh and this is Hotwire.com's idea of a 4 star, the hotel is rated a 3 star (by themselves), but... More

The front desk manager helped us so much when we checked in, that's the reason why I would go back to this hotel. The room was okay, very clean and very quiet! But it is the people who meet you at the door who set the tone of your stay! If they don't like their job or if they don't... More

I like the front desk staff at this place. I find the rooms kind of small but they are clean. There's not many amenities but we got upgraded at no charge.

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
