The Hotel Espresso was a pleasant surprise! The rooms were clean, spacious and the even have a 24 hour espresso bar in the main lobby. It is centrally located downtown, very close to the Bell Centre, St.Catherines street and all the night life you can handle on Crescent street. The price was really good for a downtown hotel and the... More

I went there with my family just for an over night stay in Montreal, do some shopping, have a nice dinner & see a HABS game. The location is great, short walk to arena or restaurants & small cab ride/ or metro to shopping. The room was ok, it was small but clean.Unfortunately , the next morning we took our... More

Stayed here for a one night business trip. Easy to find, with a parking garage attached to hotel. Across the street from police station, but no issues with noise. It was a short walk to a starbucks and pharmacy, We did see the metro station nearby as we started the drive home, not sure if I would have felt comfortable... More

The hotel is located near everything... even a local pharmacy just up the block. The room was very nice, newly renovated and very clean! The room had no carpet which was great - I wish more hotels did this! It felt a lot cleaner without dirty carpet. :) The beds were comfy and the front desk staff were helpful. I... More

Stayed here for a one night trip to Montreal. I decided to tag along after this was booked for just him and my stepson. I am normally very picky about hotels and will only stay in ones with 4+ stars, so I wouldn't have selected this on my own. We paid $99 CAD. The lobby was uninviting with a broken... More

This is a nice hotel, clean, and well kept. I have stayed here several times and I can't say I have ever had a complaint. My last trip to Montreal was not so great, as I lost my grandmother while out of town visiting Montreal.. Staff helped me book flights home. They were very helpful.

This hotel is good enough, it has clean rooms and friendly staff, but the best think of this hotel is the location , it is located just a few minutes away form the more important places of the city, In my opinion this hotel is perfect if your plan is do sightseeing in the amazing city and just rest well... I was expecting a true four star. We waited in a very slow line well over a half hour to check in, then the elevator was broken and it was another ten min wait so we opted to walk up to the fourth floor. The room nice, average room but with a large Crack in the celining, my guess would... More

We had no idea what to expect when we booked this hotel. We booked for the price and the location, based on overall reviews only. The hotel was clean, beds were great and staff were very friendly and helpful, internet was free and the location was perfect. We had a little issue with the toilet, they came to fix it... More

Stayed at hotel espresso for four nights. Nice rooms, clean and comfortable. Perfect location near metro and within walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. Front desk staff were very helpful with suggesting locations for dining. Underground shopping was perfect for the day Montreal had 15 inches of snow!

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
