My stay at the Hotel Espresso Montreal was sadly not as great as I had heard, despite having a helpful and respectful staff, upon arrival there was no water in the whole building but that issue was solved in a few hours and complementary water was offered at the front desk. Also, the room was spacious with an LCD tv... More

Great location, big and comfy rooms. Has mini fridge and microwave. Free wifi and coffee at lobby. Nearby 747 bus stop, metro, Centre Bell, and St. Catherine Ave. Bars, restaurants and shopping. Exceeded our expectations!

Air conditioner is very big and windows can't be opened. But rooms are so wide. If you are more than 1 you will be enjoy. Other things are nice. As well as parking lot is so expensive. ..... ....................

Was in town for a sports tournament and stayed here for the week. Front desk staff I found lacked in the customer service department. My room was on the 4th floor which wasn't as renovated as the 6th floor rooms, but still pretty decent. My room had a coffee maker and a computer, but no microwave. The laminate floor was different... Recently stayed at the Espresso and had great service from management and staff. The manager was even helpful in getting us a parking spot to park our larger truck. Our room was very clean. Very comfortable stay!! Recommend this hotel for the affordable price and service.

We were in town for a week for a sports tournament and the Hotel Espresso was a great place for our group to stay. The Front Desk Manager (Joe) was very nice to work with when booking for the group. There was a bit of confusion when other staff were on the front desk (they didn't know the details of... More

Great customer service! We were greeted in a very friendly and happy manner at check-in. The free espresso coffee was a very kind gesture on that cold day. The person who check us in was male with a ponytail, he was very very friendly and I was very pleased with his customer service skills. The room was nice, all the... More

Excellent Hotel with friendly staff in Downtown Montreal. We were fortunate to have a very nice room. Very Close to the Bell Centre and Shops. We will booked there again for our next trip to Montreal.

We were shocked at the tours that were staying there. Large groups of underage drunk teens that roamed the building. As chaperones to another group, we had to do " hall duty" until 5 am to send them to their rooms since security could not handle the job (they ere only 19 years old themselves) and no night manager was... My husband and I drove from Newfoundland to Montreal for a Habs game! We arrived an hour early for check in and were given a room immediately! It was very spacious and clean and the shower was fantastic...pressure galore!! The bed was really comfortable too. Fridge, stove, microwave, iron/board and even a computer! Only a 10 minute walk to the... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
