We had a wonderful time here. We originally chose this as our place to stay because of its convenient location near downtown, the Metro, and interesting neighborhood streets, and because the price was very reasonable. We got much more than we hoped for. The mansion is beautiful, with carefully preserved original woodwork and other decor. We were given a brief... More

This was my first trip to Montréal since 1967, and I would return in a heartbeat. My friend and I were bowled over by the care that had been taken in restoring and renovating this lovely Victorian mansion, and by the knowledge and helpfulness of the personable owner and staff. Served in a cozy parlor, the breakfast of locally made... More

Service is amazing and friendly and personal and no end to them offering us assistance in planning our days here with where to go, what to try and how to get there. They make their... More

We had the pleasure of staying in this hotel for a couple of day and it was a truly enjoyable experience. From the moment we checked in (very late, but they told us it would be no problem and they were waiting for us) to the moment we left to go back home we have been treated by everybody in... More

Loved this place! Our first visit to Montreal. The staff were so helpful, informed, and always ready with suggestions for restaurants close by, public transit, and local history. The room was clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. The hotel is ideally located close to the metro and bus services. Small interesting restaurants are within easy walking distance. The continental breakfast is... More

I was in Montreal with my daughter for a little side trip prior to her starting her second semester. We were pleasantly greeted upon our arrival on a blustery cold night. The room was spacious and immaculate. The hotel gave you a feeling as if you were visiting friends or family at their old house. The only issue I had... More

Stayed last weekend with my daughter. Excellent stay from the exceptionally friendly check-in with Carole (very nice of her to upgrade our room) all the way to our checkout 2 nights later. The owner, Laurier, is a gracious host, taking time to personally greet each one of his guests over a bountiful continental spread consisting of fresh-baked crossaints, yogurt with... More

We stayed at Armor Manoir Sherbrooke for 2 nights on our way to Quebec City. I had stayed at this hotel about 5-10 years ago and decided to come again. I understand from the proprietors that they are new owners as of 2015. Location is great. The hotel is boutique-y. Breakfast is adequate and tasty. Our only complaint is the... More

Very conveniently located and great staff! From the very beginning of our stay, we were accommodated in every way possible. The rooms are clean and spacious, with a Victorian charm. The continental breakfast included freshly baked croissants, and the staff were always keen to help with recommendations and advice on where to go to eat, drink and visit.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
