I was visiting McGill in the fall for three weeks and chose alacoque bed and breakfast thanks to its central location and very reasonable price. I am very happy that I selected this warm and inviting place! Not only that the location is fantastic - close to the metro, museums, shopping centers and good bars and restaurants, it also offers... This B&B is in an older house just off large main streets (Sherbrooke, St. Catherine) so it's an easy walk to many main places. The Place des Arts metro is just a few minutes down the road (super convenient), the train and bus station are a 20-25 minute walk away, and Old Port is a 10-minute walk straight down St.... More

Lovely old terrace house definitely retaining lots of character, very interesting decor (leaning to the eccentric, with framed antique baby clothes on the walls), great breakfasts on the terrace with other guests and a wonderful host. Only complaint was that the carpet on the staircase definitely needed a good vacuuming, but the atmosphere of the place compensated !!!

In a very accessible location, in a part of Montreal near its museums, galleries, the comedy theater and the Latin Quarter, B and B revolution gives you quiet, calm rest after your busy touring day. Christian's hospitality is wonderful, his house, with its amazing artifacts of the culture of the city, coupled with his superb culinary arts at breakfast which... More

The location is perfect, the price was affordable, the house is decorated very eclectic with many antiques and things to look at, the room was comfortable but question if there really is A/C, breakfast – sufficient, the owner pleasant once you are there for a little while. Christian greeted us at the door "who are you?" and not even a... More

We recently booked a 2 night stay for 2 adults at this place in May 2014 as this was listed in BedandBreakfast.com site and rated as a "4 Star" place . The inn keeper enquired if we preferred a in suite bath or a shared bath and we opted for an in suite bath. Little did we know what we... More

Christian isn't the most affable character however was was extremely accommodating with our 1am arrival. The entire home is eccentric but charming. We had the room on the third level a tight squeeze up the stairs for those that do not travel light. Relatively clean with room for improvement. Bed was comfy pillows not so much. Definitely not your average... More

I must say that Alacoque is pretty unique.. In your travels you will probably never ever encounter another B & B or owner quite like this one! There are nic-nac's everywhere! Even collections of Tin Tin for you to read..! The en-suite bathroom in our room was minuscule, but functional. I was quite impressed with everything that this B &... More

Had a fab stay! I was a bit concerned after reading reviews here as the owner seemed to be described as a curmudgeon, the breakfast extremely sparse, and the decor musty. I am so glad that I booked anyway as it was difficult to find affordable lodgings on F1 race weekend - here is one of the few places that... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
