This B&B came highly recommended from a friend and after checking on trip advisor, it was clear that others agreed! My husband, one-year-old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed a week vacation here in July. The accommodations met our needs in every way. Sandrine was such a lovely hostess (Vincent was out of town). She made up feel so welcome and... More

My daughter and I stayed in the Top Suite (2 bedroom apartment) when she had an entrance interview at McGill. We rented a care that we DID NOT need in any way and had a parking spot provided in a safe fenced area. This beautiful suite is walking distance to everything. The kitchen was completely stocked including a fridge filled... More

We spent 3 nights in late April in the Victorian suite and immediately felt at home. We were welcomed by Vincent and given a tour of the apartment. Victor and Sandrine have thought of everything - coffee maker & French press for coffee, pots, pans, dishes, spices, oils, plenty of linens, pillows & storage space, a hair dryer and even... More

We stayed in the Top Suite 2-bed apartment at Castel Durocher for a fortnight in March 2014, so we could be close to our son, who was living down the street during his study year at McGill University. Everything about the apartment was perfect: location, comfort and facilities. The owners were fluent bi-lingual and extremely friendly, helpful hosts. The position... More

Castel Durocher - No comparison with a hotel. Each hotel on this world can never arrive this very high level of hospitality with family atmosphere! If you looking for a sweet place, a real bijoux...so book one of the suites in the Durocher! I recommend it! The suite Victoria is as a home, spacious and furnished with love, each detail... More

This was more than homey, it was home. I had the grand suite, which is really a beautifully finished ground floor apartment with a good-size queen bedroom, big bath and an airy living area and kitchen (and its own entrance). Daily flowers, the refrigerator stocked with new treats each day, plus all the necessities for a (French) breakfast. The neighborhood... More

Belgian Chocolate. My wife and I spent three wonderful nights at the Castel Durocher with close friends from Quebec this month. From the time we arrived until we left, the hallmark of the experience was the friendliness of Sandrine, Vincent, their assistants and family. No question was too odd; no request left unfulfilled. We booked the two bedroom "Stained Glass... More

My 2 friends and I were in Montreal for the Osheaga music festival. After an unexpected cancelation at the previous place we were going to stay, we got a tip that Castel Durocher had the "Stained Glass" room. The Stained Glass room is a basement suite (though well lit), and has hardwood floors, a kitchenette, two bedrooms (with three beds),... More

A home away from home. Beautiful appartments in the heart of Montreal. Walking distance to all major attractions. But most important, a welcoming host family who goes out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. The home-made chocolates, bath salt, and stylishly filled refridgerator add to the charm of the rooms. A highly recommended place to sejourn while in... More

This is almost second home! I found this special B&B by chance in August 2010, and ever since we always come back. Nicer than staying in a hotel room. You have a well-equiped kitchen, with lots of pots and pans. You can cook your own meal. Breakfast is a meal to look forward to, with croissants and pains au chocolat,... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
