My wife and I just returned home from a vacation in Montreal, OC. I booked this property based on reviews from Trip Advisor as we did not wish to stay in a cookie cutter hotel. This was a fantastic choice as it is located in downtown Montreal. The metro is at the corner of the street which provides easy access... More

I booked this room based on the reviews and the fact that chain hotels are boring and predictable. I stayed at multiple b&b places previously and never felt disappointed. Usually when a one night stay is $200 the room is very cozy this instead was outdated and desperately needed new furniture. The service was nothing special. It wasn't bad but... More

This was not our first time at the Petite Auberge, nor will it be our last. The hotel is comprised of several apartments in a series of row houses. Each one has it's own layout and charm. All are nicely furnished, comfortable, clean and inviting. Parking is available off street for a very reasonable fee. Location is just at the... More

We had tickets to a show at the belle center. From les bons matins, we could just walk over to the show! It's across the street from the Belle Center. It's also across the street from the subway which we took to get all over the city. So convenient! I love the cheery decor: pastel colored walls and very colorful... More

We enjoyed our stay in this little gem - quite special with the different rooms in adjacent houses, individual furniture and beautiful art. Especially the breakfast was amazing, served freshly in a sunny breakfast room - eggs, waffles, fresh fruit - whatever you prefered. The neighbourhood at a first glance is nothing special but once you leave the house you... More

My priorities in a place to stay are that they are well located and have charm (clean and safe are "givens"). While Auberge is not in the center of old town, it is downtown and steps from the metro making it perfectly situated for exploring the city. We loved: 1.) the amazing room. We were upgraded upon check in to... More

Forget the big chain hotels and stay in one of these charming rooms. The Auberge has 3 adjoining houses, each with uniquely decorated rooms (check the website) We dealt with Zen on the phone, during check in and check out..such a nice guy, no hassles, quick and easy. We stayed in 601, it looks exactly like the pictures. Lovely colours,... More

..this place is fabulous. Our suite was wonderful ... huge, clean and originally furnished. The location is great. If you're a fan of hockey, you are a one-minute walk from the Bell Centre. You are at 50 mt from the metro, so it's easy to go anywhere. A 5-minute walk from Rue St Catherine for shopping and pub/dinings... so good... More

We arrived in Montreal by train and were very surprised that it was a very short taxi ride. The Metro station was at the end of the street. Bars and restaurants were just a short walk away on Rue Crescent and the Bell Centre is just around the corner. The room was very clean and cozy with a queen bed... More

We stayed here for a weekend concert trip. I can't say enough great things! First the service is excellent. Parking is a bit challenging for an out of towner but the staff was very helpful. Make sure to check because there are zone laws and parking tickets fees are high! Bell center is walking distance as is many other things... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
