First impressions are not great as you enter via a steep staircase which is a struggle with luggage. Reception is on the first floor with a large welcoming space and the breakfast room to the right. Most of the rooms are another floor up so this is definitely not a great place for the mobility impaired! I was in a... More

My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights here in the room with the kitchen. It smelled great, was clean and there is no better location in Montreal, we could walk everywhere we needed to go. They left us some cider and a birthday card as well which was a great surprise!! Thank you for a great stay!

I booked Hotel l'Abri du Voyageur because of the price. It was really inexpensive and I thought that it was a pretty good deal for the cost. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean (our room had a shared bathroom, which I wasn't aware of when I booked on Expedia, so make sure you read the fine print if you... More

Don't be fooled by first sight: the trend of the reviews is spot-on. Despite the large "sex shop" neon sign etc that are well-remarked on in other reviews, this is a find. Smack in the middle of the entertainment district (le Quartier des Spectacles), within steps of Montreal Metro/bus lines - giving easy access to anything the city has to... More

The hotel has a good crew, very polite, but some cleaners don't speak english. The breakfast is amazing, but the room we stayed in has a very low ceiling, and the was very visible. The air conditioning system took a long time to cool off the room, as the feeling was 40ºC that day. The bathrooms are clean. The hotel... More

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay in Montreal at our hotel! As Montreal is a multicultural city, we employ people from many different backgrounds, but somebody at the reception is always able to help you if you have any inquiries. Montreal can also experience quite humid temperatures in the summertime, so we will do our... More

We really enjoyed our stay in Montreal and specifically, we were very happy with this hotel. For the price we paid for it, you just won't get better value for money. It is a few short blocks from Rue St. Denis which is littered with good bars and restaurants and is right by some shopping streets. The Old Town and... More

Friendly staff. Stayed in the budget hotel, one of the showers was broken, but that did not affect my stay. Shared washrooms were very clean and so was the room. Room was spacious, great location. The room had a sink which was very useful and the continental breakfast was very nice. Would come back again!

We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff are first class and nothing is to much trouble. The location is very good for most attractions and are within walking distance. I highly recommend that everyone stay at another hotel. I visited this hotel on a small vacation with some friends and everything was fine until we came into the hotel late one night. Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
